SoFlaJets
By Tim Graham March, 18, 2010 Mar 1810:51AM ET ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi hasn't been overly impressed with three of the four AFC East clubs so far through free agency. Bruschi perceives improvement in the New York Jets alone. "They already have one of the best defenses in the league, and they added Antonio Cromartie, possibly giving them one of the best defenses again," Bruschi said in a video segment for ESPNBoston.com. "This will give them a great unit that will possibly contend for the AFC East title. "The Patriots have won this title regularly. Now, they have some serious competition." Bruschi likes that his old team has re-signed a bunch of its own free agents, but he warned a week ago that philosophy wouldn't be enough. "The New England Patriots have done a good job of signing back their own -- from Vince Wilfork, to Steve Neal, to Leigh Bodden," Bruschi said. "These were moves that they had to make, but they didn't really get better." Bruschi biggest problem with the Buffalo Bills is that their offensive line still is in shambles, and he's unconvinced the Miami Dolphins' defense is better without a replacement for outside linebacker Joey Porter. video with link; http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/11731/bruschi-jets-improving-pats-standing-still

But guess what? He is actually correct, without totally realizing it.

ZachEY
I gotta say how impressed I am with Tedy Bruschi's ability for unbiased analysis I agree. Of course, as Jets fans, we love what he's saying, but you gotta take a step back and just appreciate the fact that he's acting as an analyst and not just a former Pat. KSJets
who DOES let his bias as an ex-Patriot get in the way every time he opens his mouth I remember one game they were doing the pregame for, and it was the Colts and Pats, and Rodney was asked who was going to win and he said something like "we're going to win". It was pretty funny and sad all at the same time.

PFSIKH
Fast forward 10 years from now.....Bart Scott is a Rex Ryan lap dog on Versus Sunday Night Football pre-game show lapping up everything the Rex is cooking. Will Jets fans be as judgmental? I think not. Who gives a F? An NFL player likes his former team....shocking.

Will Jets fans be as judgmental? I think not. Who gives a F? An NFL player likes his former team....shocking. Maybe it's just me, but I don't think anyone is being judgmental towards Bruschi on this. Harrison the Cheapshot Artist, perhaps. You've got to realize that Jets fans - as well as the fans of nearly every team in the league, for that matter - are never going to cut the Patriots slack for getting caught, found guilty, and getting sanctioned for cheating. It's on the books, pal, so you may as well face it. The cloud of suspicion that will always hang over the 'legacy' of the Patriots will always be as front and center as the 'legacy' itself. Their championships will never pass the smell test with anyone except the deluded. The fact that Kraft convinced Goodell to destroy the tapes only adds to it. Goodell is not only a rube, he's a patsy. No pun intended. Ah, I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Make that the afternoon.

Wow...way to pull from one tangent and draw a totally irrelevant conclusion. The national media's hate of the Patriots was apparent long before Spy Gate. The jealousy on this board has been running deep since 2002. Again, back to the point, who cares what an NFL player thinks about his former team? It is an opinion. They run rampant. Falcon63
I gotta say how impressed I am with Tedy Bruschi's ability for unbiased analysis Yeah, I have always liked Tedy Bruschi, even when he played for the Pats. With the heart problems he had to overcome and just his how he plays the game, it's hard not to like him.

In general, it doesn't matter. However, while I don't hold ESPN up to be some beacon of journalism, a national media source's opinions should be objective. Why not just have 'Fitzy' sitting at the desk on ESPN?

PFSIKH
It's perspectives. I see the national media constantly ball washing Tom Brady, Bill Bellichick and anything Patriot related. People generally love/bandwagon winners. I agree with this, but there is a breaking point when media trying to stay...cutting edge....will start bashing everything. Of course, SpyGate episodes, or the CowBoyz dabbling in drugs and sex houses make it easier. In general, it doesn't matter. However, while I don't hold ESPN up to be some beacon of journalism, a national media source's opinions should be objective. Why not just have 'Fitzy' sitting at the desk on ESPN? There is no such thing. Every media person has a bias or agenda. Sadly, the more popular/successful/polarizing ones are the ones with an opinion to the left or right of the general public opinion on any subject. I guarantee Rodney opining on the Patriots beating the Colts drew more feedback then Dungy saying the Colts will win.
