Tom Brady takes up boxing

Posted by Mike Florio on March 20, 2010 9:31 AM ET

TomBradyBoxing-thumb-250x322-7530.jpgNearly a decade removed from posing at the Scouting Combine for a photograph that conjured images of someone's dad heading to the bathroom to take a whiz after drinking too much schnapps the prior evening, new images have emerged, which show that Tom Brady is supplementing his training regimen with boxing.

The photos, from a blog of which we've never previously heard (it's called Faded Youth), supposedly were taken on Friday in Beverly Hills.

Brady did not appear for the first week of the Patriots' offseason workout program, which opened on Monday.

He is only 18 months removed from a serious knee injury, from which he has by all appearances completely recovered.

Bart Scott better keep his mouth shut this season........... Oh and if anyone knows where I can get those gym pants just shoot me a PM.

Only Tom Brady could look that gay while boxing.

No, that's a gut.

The link is to another recent photo:

He's in his early 30s so packing on pounds at that age PLUS marriage & a kid(s) is natural.

That picture does not make your point. Love handles do not form a nearly 90 degree angle.

Then who cares what his stomach looks like (which is better than everyone elses here I'd bet) in March?

We care because we are Jets fans and we love to hate Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Simple enough. :D

Why does "230" get so offended when someone says something mildly negative about Brady?

Maybe, the 8+ years of Brady bashing circle jerks is embarrassing.

You have a team on the rise and we get a thread about Brady boxing and wearing some ugly baggy clothes. Not if he still has "it", but that he looks funny.

I find it amusing, but I am a Patriots' fan.

Because he is not a blind Homer and can tell it like it is.

Beer belly and all, Brady is not done winning championships.

Oh please, there is homerism and there is being in the closet. I think "230" is a closet Pats fan masquerading as a "Jets Fanatic".

I've never seen anyone get so flustered everytime someone says something slighty off color or critical about a division rival. :D

Never said Brady was done winning championships or anything like that, I was simply criticizing his Beer gut.

Boy, that Tom Brady sure is a dog!

Boxing is one of the best cardio work outs there are....and it's not like he's ever been cut...ever. Just skinny. Obviously not so much anymore. :) Anyway, reports are that he's boxing to work on footwork. Smart. After his 2008 injury, that was the slowest part of his game to come back.

So...he's got a Pennington-esque combover, and he's doing boxing to work on his footwork.

Why doesn't he just change his last name to Pennington while he's at it?

...because he can throw beyond 10 yards? :)

He can go bald (probably is) and be queer (running joke here) and I would not care as long as he can keep my favorite team competitive.
