JiFtheOracle
Like I've said before...if you are going to draft a WR in the first...then I see no problem with trading for Brandon Marshall using our 1st round pick.
Kentucky Jet
yes I read it and would love to have Marshall on the Jets. IMO our defense would be virtually unstoppable. How does a team prepare to play the Jets with 3 excellent receivers; a great run game; a great OL and a young and talented QB? Mind you, I think Golden tate would be excellent for us too. Somehow I think we are going for a pass rusher in RD 1. If we could secure Marshall without the #1 pick that would be awesome. I doubt it could or will happen. Exactly. Or better yet, Braylon Edwards and a 2nd rounder for Brandon Marshall. I don't see us keeping Edwards AND getting Marshall.

Klecko73isGod
But if we did keep them both, we'd be unstoppable. I can't see us keeping both for more than one season. When the new cap kicks in in 2011, one of them is gone. I like the idea of getting Marshall and keeping the first round pick. The only way that can happen is giving the Broncos a receiver in return. Aten
Like I've said before...if you are going to draft a WR in the first...then I see no problem with trading for Brandon Marshall using our 1st round pick. There are many problems with trading for Marshall. As concerns the 'if you're going to draft a WR anyway' argument, the principal one is money. We need rookie contracts bad. thejetsaddict
We need a championship before we need a rookie contract!
dbatesman
This works out perfectly. Whatever pick we give up will be replaced when we trade Faneca.

nodimwithere
Like I've said before...if you are going to draft a WR in the first...then I see no problem with trading for Brandon Marshall using our 1st round pick. I see a problem. Brandon Marshall is both an on-the-field and off-the-field problem. Do you want the Jets to become the new Cincinnati Bengals? Draft a WR in the first round. But NO to Brandon Marshall.
Joey Jet
Exactly. Or better yet, Braylon Edwards and a 2nd rounder for Brandon Marshall. I don't see us keeping Edwards AND getting Marshall. I agree. There aren't enough balls to keep both Marshall and Edwards happy. I'd love to see Marshall in green and wouldn't mind trading Edwards to make it happen. I've heard some rumours that Cotch would be involved which i'm against. If Edwards isn't involved and it's just a 1st rounder i'd look to move Edwards to a team for at least a second rounder and possibly that slot reciever we need. I'd like to see us address DL RB and OL in that order in the draft along with some depth in the secondary.Preferably i'd love to see us address most of our needs in FA and give us the benefit of taking the best player available in he draft.
