InstantClassic
Wasn't even aware this console had a red light problem like the 360..but apparently mine got it tonight. How lame.

rillo
Sorry to hear IC, borrowed my friends PS3 (40gig) a couple of months ago, I was forced to do an update and it killed the Blu-ray drive. Now it doesn't play ANY disc, it's a known probably with them. Of course he's out of warranty and Sony is asking for $150, these "next gen" consoles have been nothing but rushed crap IMO. Yeah..I've had this one since it launched but used it mostly to play movies. Looks like I'll be using the 360 for that now but im out a blu ray player at te moment. war ensemble
Sounds like the post the warranty timed destruction device is setting in for PS3 owners. Not really. The failure rate is like 3%...which is less than one tenth the failure rate of the 360. The PS3 wasn't rushed; its failure rate is very low. Ghost
This is the first time I ever heard about this. Nothing is more worse than having a 360, though. It's one of the worst systems.
InstantClassic
Called Sony. $179 for repair $150 for them to keep my PS3 and give me a refurbished slim one. I dislike both options given to me.
