Joe Jets fan
I don't know, sounded more like something she was just blogging about, she usally does not just make stuff up. Her brother runs NFL.com
Mistalava
Sounds like she just pulled the story out of her cavernous snatch. According to unnamed sources, she has a wealth of journalistic material stashed away in there.
abyzmul
If the Jets don't draft a G in the first or second round this year (I'd love Iupati), then Faneca will probably play out 2010 and be released during the following offseason. Turner was a nice outside blocking option, but he's nothing close to the road grader that Faneca is for the ground game. However, next season Faneca's cap number is close to 9 million, and I'd be pretty surprised if there isn't a new CBA in place before March 5th, 2011. If Slauson isn't able to take over by then, we're going guard in round 1 of the 2011 draft for sure.
bitonti
the offensive line is greater than the sum of its parts the more these same 5 guys play together, the better they get getting rid of Faneca, even if they replace with a so called "better" option (for the sake of argument, cause they aren't going to upgrade an 8 time pro bowler easily) doesn't actually make the offensive line better. the continuity would be reset to 0 games together and whole unit takes a step back. Jets Babe
How does Alan feel about this. Have you talked to him lately? It doesn't matter how Alan feels or what he wants if it's a trade, it has everything to do with Jets brass. And it's not happening. What trade value will the Jets get for him any way? He's old and expensive. Who wants to give up picks/players for that?
