BP
JJ built Shaqs bike. There was another outfit on TV based in AZ that built bikes from tube metal to paint. They used to have a bike build off show too. kind of like monster garage. but JJ hammers out sheet metal when he makes the tanks and bends tubing to make the frame. the Tuttles use prefabbed frames and tanks and just play with them. joebabyny
Screw them for not giving Joebaby the bbq!!! HAHAHA, thanks for that!! I had to go up to the showroom/shop twice, once to film my discussion with Sr and the guys about the build, and then a second time after the jets game when the TLC brass decided to stretch the segment over 2 episodes and needed more footage and soundbites from me. The first time I was in the shop for about 4 hours waiting to film because Sr had to run out to do something when we were scheduled to shoot my stuff. I got to hang around and chat up some of the shop and the tv production crew. What I got out this chatting was that the feud was indeed VERY real and not made for tv. Also, the way it was said was that the kids never did much work and were not around so much. It may seem like sr overreacts with his kids, but with the sentiments i got it seems kinda valid. The shop is absolutely huge, and they have pretty much every important bike they ever made, including all the ones that "were made for charities," including the christopher reeves one they did this year. They had tons of tshirts and assorted occ crap for sale, but oddly enough next to no actual occ bikes for sale. Would have been cool to actually been given the smoker, as it would really have helped with getting attention. I was also approached by 2 different cancer charities about using it for promotional fundraising events, they were disappointed to hear that I didn't really posess it. What can ya do. joebabyny
just went to tailgatejoe.com.. very cool man,, plus, u have a good 'on air' vibe.. maybe u should look into that..seriously Thanks. I am actually going to be doing a big overhaul of the site next month and have a lot of content to get up there. I pretty much put that site together in a few hours a week before the first home game, but it has grown since then so i need to rejigger a few things. I would LOVE to get in front of a camera or microphone, i've never had a problem with speaking in front of people. I just don't have any good connections right now to get in the door. I am searching out for a good contact at the food network or bravo or one of those type of networks, who knows. I am launching a new site in june. This august I will be 14 years in remission. The chemo did some crazy things to me, I was on massive steroids and gained well over 80 lbs in about 6 months, and have been carrying that weight, and maybe a little more, for most of the time since then. The first 5-10 years of my remission i was really grabbing the bull by the horns, travelling all over the world and getting into ocean racing and really pushing myself. Well, the last 4 years or so have been mostly crappy, took on a lot of business responsibility with jobs or owning that really crushed a lot of that determination to get out there and do some cool things. I want to do something big for my 15 year anniversery, to kind of finally put the whole thing to bed, but I am definitely not in fighting shape to do so. So on june 1st I am launching a blog where I will chart my process where I get my mind and body and life back on track, toward a goal of doing something big for my 15th aniversary. I want to take off all the weight and just get everything in order. Maybe that will spur something and get some attention from the right person, but at the very least it will put me in a much better position to pursue some kind of public personality type of gig. joebabyny
It will be 4 years Cancer free for me come June Good for you dude! I remember, my first 4 years I would just quietly go out by myself for a steak dinner at mortons and just order up a great bottle of wine and just sit there enjoying just being around. Then on the 5th year I threw a blowout party, rented out the puck building in nyc, invited everyone from the firm i was working at, about 250 people, i literally sent en email to the company wide distribution list, and all my friends and had a giant ****tail party. One of the all time great parties, and it was just a celebration of life, not a wedding or birthday or sweet sixteen, just a party to say, "hey, sometimes things work out ok, now lets all get smashed and rock out." Good for you, make sure come june you and the misses go out and celebrate;)

There are studies that show that the best time to lift as far disc fluid goes is around 4 pm. FWIW, I'm a late shift guy, usually 9-11. Over here I've been going right after work and I hate it. Green DNA
I like to do it first thing in the morning, gives me energy for the day. +1. Weights and then a good long run in the morning. It helps you burn calories all day long. You will burn calories when you sleep regardless of whther you lift in the evening or not. If you sleep 6 hours, you should lose about 2 pounds overnight.
