The next Haloti Ngata....

Linval Joseph. If we trade down please pick this guy with one of our 2nd round picks. When you call a football player a beast...this is the guy. Hes the size of a full grown bear. He has better conditioning then terrence cody and can also give us versatility along the line.

After getting Holmes I'm prepared to grab him at 29...

Because of workout numbers?

Ngata was a slob much of the time in college...he didn't get into shape until his draft offseason. If there's a Ngata in this draft it's Cody.

That said, Cody in the first and Joseph in the 2nd would be

Terrance Cody isn't even close to being the athlete that Ngata is/was at the time of the draft. Cody is a 3-4 plug in the middle, Ngata is large enough to play the nose and athletic enough to play anywhere on the line in this defense.

So can Cody, but that's been covered by a slow 40 time and a picture with his shirt off on the internet. Cody was used by Saban just like Ngata was used in college and in the pros, except Cody took most of his snaps at NT. It's not as if his job wouldn't be any different as a DE...be huge, get push, eat blockers.

Man, you have to be Cody's cousin or something. You still haven't made a legit point why we should pick Cody.....over Linval Joseph for that matter. Why risk drafting a 350 pound bad conditioned lineman? Your not defending his case at all. YOU said he is has been covered by a slow 40 time. How in the WORLD could he play de then? He would not hold the edge. Teams wouldn't have to double team him if he was a de in the 3-4 and if the opposing team were running a sweep or an outside run play. There are many busts in every draft, Terrence Cody will be one of them.

Um...Cody's better? Played for a better team, anchored a better D, played in a way better conference, for an NFL caliber coach, in an NFL caliber system? Those aren't legit? What's Joseph's argument...stronger workout numbers?

Why risk drafting a 350 pound bad conditioned lineman?
You know well conditioned 350 pound linemen? You know well conditioned 22 year old 350 pound linemen? Why aren't they in the draft?

Your not defending his case at all.
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuum...what have you done to argue for Joseph but simply state him as the next Ngata?

YOU said he is has been covered by a slow 40 time. How in the WORLD could he play de then?
...Wow.

He would not hold the edge.
Why can't he? Not a strong enough 40 time?

Teams wouldn't have to double team him if he was a de in the 3-4
Again...why not? Something in his workout numbers?

and if the opposing team were running a sweep or an outside run play.
How is that a bad for this D again? You do realize running sweeps and outside runs takes more time and energy for the offense, right?

There are many busts in every draft, Terrence Cody will be one of them.

Oh duh...there's a case right there...compared to the next Ngata, Joseph, there's no way we should look at this guy. Joseph's a lock.

The funny thing is that I probably not only knew who Joseph was before you, but I was a fan of Joseph's before you. Good workout numbers and a couple of articles stating potential and look what you get...

Even though good workout numbers and the couple of articles stating potential is what is rising him up on the draft board...I COULD CARE LESS. If someone showed me this highlight video

I would say I want him and I want him now. He is the size of a full grown bear and the thing that I LOVE is his tackling. I love his quickness of the snap and again his size is perfect. 6-5, 328 pounds, you really cant get any better than that.

Linval Joseph will be the next Ngata if he comes to a formidable well coached team like the Jets, Steelers. Joseph>Cody easily. So far you only said Cody can get double teams. Linval Joseph cant get double teams?

Cody >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Joseph

Bigger, better coaching, more versatile football player, better motor, better competition, better achievement in only 2 years of D1 play.

The only thing he isn't better at is being a runway model, which I don't think are in his plans anyway.

Cody is a slob.

Linval is a terrific 4th round prospect that will grow INTO his role as opposed to eating his way OUT of the league.

I became fond of #97 watching Hughes highlights. Cody by contrast gets pushed out of the play... At this point, one week away, I wouldn't mind an Alualu (1st) Linval (2nd) draft.

Just saying.

Thank you. Someone needs to put some sense into senorgato. But I would much rather have joseph in the first even though im a big fan of alualu too. I just think Joseph could dominate at the line of scrimmage in terms of strength and power jus lik suh will....he has the size advantage over Alualu and could draw more double teams than Alualu could. I give praise for Alualu's lateral speed though which he clearly has at 295.

Why are you thanking the guy for calling "the next Ngata" and your choice at #29 "a terrific 4th round prospect"? I thought it was a little insulting. Especially considering that at this time last year people were still saying we'd have been better off with Ngata than Ferguson.

FWIW, the most recent mock on the Rams board I go to had us going with Joseph at 29. with Alualu as another possibility. They had Cody off the board @28 to the Chargers.

i still dont understand why the league's best defense needs 2 rookies over 300 plus pounds. Pass rusher, Safety and Nickel corner are far worse needs. Alualu and Joseph wouldn't start on this defense, thats alot of money on the bench, at least until they move Ellis or whoever else.

Our defense relied soley on heavy blitzing and a man named darrelle revis. Are u joking? April Fools has passed. Joseph and Alualu would SURELY start over Devito. How is a nickel corner gonna be a bigger need than your starting 3-4 de?

Safety and pass rusher. Well yes, I would say its a bigger need, but the question comes into play....WHO? Its a strong possibilty we do trade up, but there is also a possibilty we stay at 29 and I can guarantee you that there will be no safety nor pass rusher worth taking at 29 over Linval Joseph, (maybe the exception of Everson Griffen).

First round- Mays

Second Round - Joseph/Alualu

would be wonderful

Been finally getting to doing some reading up on the draft.

Based on no film experience, but just what I've read, I'd much rather land a Safetey like Morgan Burnett in the 2nd round than Mays in the 1st. He might even be a better player straight up. 1st round pick is for DL or pass rush if we can get value there IMO.

All we need is one, two would just be sweet. Like WR, it wouldn't hurt to make the first one a high end guy. IMO, Cody answers alot of will-be important questions.
