Drew Coleman - DB

Apr. 14 - 3:56 pm et

pixel.gifpixel.gifJets re-signed restricted free agent CB Drew Coleman to a one-year, $1.176 million contract.

A mostly ineffective defensive back, Coleman was forced into too much action last year at corner due to Lito Sheppard's injuries and was constantly beaten in coverage. He did contribute eight tackles on the Jets' kickoff units.

The question is does he have any trade value?

Drew Coleman might be the best guy in the NFL and is going to use this money to buy medicine for his sick grandmother. I don't know anything about the guy off the field, he might just be the next Gandhi or something. But on the field he is the worst cornerback the Jets have had in years and I am including David Barrett in that. Throwing to Coleman's man is an automatic first down for the other team.

The New York Post reports backup cornerback Drew Coleman, a restricted free agent, has signed his sixth-round tender with the Jets.

Coleman signed the one-year tender, worth $1.176 million, on Wednesday, leaving running back-kick returner Leon Washington as the Jets' only remaining unsigned restricted free agent.

I think Rex likes Coleman more than most of us. He was using him in the slot a ton down the stretch. Part of that was injuries, but he seemed to turn to Coleman more as he soured on some of the others.

More importantly, DREW COLEMAN MAKES $1.176M?!?!?! Think about it. Taylor is set to sign for $1.5 and Drew ****ing Coleman maks $1.176M!
