its a great effort but I'd rather they took Cody or Griffen over Hughes. Jerry Hughes skipping the senior bowl left a bad taste in my mouth... he's a liability against the run, would be conversion to 3-4 OLB (never played any linebacker) and I can't find 1 decent OT prospect he's beaten for sacks.

I hear you Bit but pass rush should be the #1 priority and Hughes would be the best on the board. I decided to keep on going...

I hope the Jets avoid any DE to 3-4 OLB conversion project in the first two rounds. It's so bad that I'm almost hoping jason Taylor signs before the draft so I don't have to worry about it. Too much risk. Jets have gone after this type of player in the first before and failed miserably with Bryan Thomas (decent OLB, but no pass rusher), and Gholston (el busto).

They should look for these projects from the 4th round on, as they have to be developed, anyway. First couple rounds should yield guys who can contribute right away. A true 3-4 DE or a CB comes to mind.

Hughes is a beast,

but if we want to upgrade our defense we need to address our DL depth.

Alualu and Linval would be a nice start.

Hughes would be the last person I would call a "beast". Graham is a beast. Linval is literally a beast.

How about we scoop Adalius Thomas up once BB cuts him instead of Taylor. I just don't want to have to root for Thomas. Make no mistake, I was a HUGE fan of Bryan Cox once he became a Jet so it's not about the ex-Dolphin thing...it's just...too much fun hating him to give that all up.

That would be my preference. I don't want Taylor, either. I just think it's a big gamble trying to project and convert a college DE into a pro OLB. I strongly prefer making picks like that later in the draft.

I really think Belichick is purposely holding onto Thomas just to keep him from Rex.

Oh, no doubt. But at the end of the day, he's going to have to fish or cut bait with him. If we don't sign Taylor or draft a high OLB, we can just sit back and wait. He won't be the first player to move from NE to NY or vice versa and he won't be the last. The fact that it will tear BB up inside if AT performs well here will just be thick, delicious gravy on top of the mashed.
