villain_the_foe
And the Jets better stay FAR away from this guy. Okay, I can understand Eric Berry being the first Safety drafted, however, when Pete Carroll, your ex-coach and a person that knows you better than ANYONE ELSE IN THE NFL decides with the 14th pick to not only draft a Safety but to draft Earl Thomas instead of you, a Safety that he's been around... all I can say is that things are not looking good for you buddy. Actions speak louder than words. Could you imagine if the Chiefs drafted Tebow or McCoy and left Clausen there knowing that Charlie Weiss coached him? This decision by Carroll and the Seahawks says alot about Taylor Mays IMO.
Bergen Jet
You aren't going to use the 14th pick on a late 1st/early 2nd safety... even if he was your own kid. Everybody in the draft including Mays knew that Earl Thomas would be the second safety taken.
Bruce Banner
I agree. That was the kiss of death for Mays. But Seattle still might take him in the second round. I read somewhere they came into the draft with only two safeties on the roster. Having Thomas and Mays at safety could end up being a killer safety combo, ballhawk and devestating hitter. 124
I would much rather take the kid from Indiana Pennslyvania and move him to Safety then to move up and take Taylor F'ing Mays. If we move up and take Mays, or if he falls to 61 and we take him, then we should've just kept Kerry Rhodes. Hearing some of those idiot Jets fans screaming for Mays (I don't know if they showed them on ESPN, but they were showing them on NFL Network) made me want to jump through the screen and strangle them. If he's there for the Jets 2nd I'd be ecstatic, thought I'm not sure I'd like to burn a 1 & 2 in the secondary. There is no shame in being worse than Berry and Thomas and Mays is a boom or bust guy. Mays is a monster athlete and should be able to contribute for years if used correctly.
