I think they look at it this way-If they had Wilson ranked as high as some of the reports state, then in their mind the 29th pick suddenly had the value of a top 15 pick due to their player being there. So, would you make that trade for a player that you value in the top 15? I wouldn't.

Great point. The pick is worth more based on the value of the player available.

I thought the Jets were very high on Wilson all along. I mentioned this to Bit last week and Bit felt they preferred McCourty. Now we'll never know. He played a ton of man and made a lot of plays. From what I hear he's not much of a tackler (contradicting this article) but Rex wants cover CBs, not face the QB tackler like Herm and the Cover 2 crowd.
