THE ILK
heard if saints do not tender him, the jets can sigh him sometime around june/julyYeah, but they will tender him. We would have to trade for him then.
ZachEY
heard if saints do not tender him, the jets can sigh him sometime around june/july They can sign him July 22nd. Your premise is that the Jets cut their starting LG to free up money, in an uncapped year, for a player that very well still could get tendered by his former team, who they can't sign for another 3 months. Sperm Edwards
isn't it too late to tender him? Pretty sure you're right & the deadline for NO to tag him was in late February, before the official start of the 2010 season. He has been an unrestricted free agent, with no ties to his prior team (other than their ability to sign him as a UFA), since March 5th. So the Saints can still sign him, but they have no more rights to him than any other NFL team who is able to sign UFA's whose contracts expired. I still think this guy is in the Jets plans...just a gut feeling.
