Look who's talking -- again.

Already in mid-season form, New York Jets coach Rex Ryan predicted big things Monday for his team in 2010. His bold remarks came in response to a quote from New England quarterback Tom Brady, who praised the Jets' blockbuster offseason and indicated the AFC East won't be a walkover for the defending-champion Patriots.

NY Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan joins 1050 ESPN New York's The Michael Kay Show about issuing a weight loss challenge to Kris Jenkins and Damien Woody. Coach also talks about the release of Alan Faneca.

$*($*(&*& IDIOT. Everyone says that. OMG here is Rex's wildly 'controversial' remark as quoted by Cimini:

Wow, wow, Rex is doing such trash talking, I can't believe it!! Wow!! No normal coach would ever say that!! lol

cimini's writing style has always been based on his "the jets will always s*ck regardless" agenda..

he's kept a good job for many years with this horse spit..

How about this inflammatory statement?

We know it's going to be a great challenge. We're working so hard in the offseason. I think we've gotten better in the offseason as far as the personnel is concerned. We added a lot of guys that I think will help us.

Can you believe he would say such a thing? I'm so worried that the Patriots will be incensed. What a *****.

We need to do something, as Jet fans , to get this guy fired or atleast to cover another team...Like a DOuble A baseball team or somthing.

This guy is like these dumbassess from other teams that come onto this site to talk

sh!t...Rex should even ignore this dorks questions, I could do wihtout the un-warranted negativity in ALL of his so-called , articles...

Go away jack ass...

Media has just made up their minds that they are going to spin him into an arrogant bastard and so when they look, that's all they see.

Even on SNY they were like "ZOMG!!!! Rex is "talking" again!"

Cimini is by far the worst though.

If your team makes the championship game the year before then damn right you aim at a superbowl next year.

I don't understand how you guys actually still take journalists serious. They are no longer reporting and just submitting opinion. The internet put them on the same level as you and me, we can all say what we want and we all have an avenue to do it on - there's is just seen by more people. For now.

They're job is no different than radio shock jocks at this point. They say wildly outrageous things just to stir the pot and get peoples attention.

What does Cimini know about football that we don't? Inverted pyramid scheme? That's not a football term, that's a writing term.

little to nothing would be my guess..

And no one here talks about him. Leading me to believe that Cimini is doing a better job.

hey, i haven't been here in awhile but i'm pretty sure you guys are not posting what a great jets beat writer he is..

cimini writes/hacks with a very clear agenda, that speaks for itself..

canns actually covers the team & calls it straight, good or bad..

gotcha..

you couldn't have possibly believed cimini does a better job than canns..

in his heart of hearts, i don't even think cimini believes he does either..

I don't read either of them, occasionally when something gets posted here and theres a lot of comments about it, I might. But for the most part, anything they're touching on has been talked about to death here already, and I've already formed my opinion.

I know more about Cimini only because people here post his stuff and call him retarded. That or he'll write about what we talked about yesterday and publish it tomorrow and maybe add some broad prediction.

There's an awful lot of idiocy packed into this post. Sure. The guys who have access to the team are on the same level as you are. You bet.

The inverted pyramid has nothing to do with pyramid schemes.

To the original point, I get tired of Cimini, too, but it's not a crime to decline to sniff Rex's ballsack, like many of you guys do.

I will go on the record as saying I don't think Cannizzaro is any better. I read their stuff because they write about the team. That's the only reason I read 99% of the stuff posted by you people, why should they be any different? It's not like I'll only read about the Jets if Dashiell Hammett is their beat writer.

I understand what he is saying and agree with his premise. Cimini isn't really breaking much new these days. Years ago that wasn't the case.

When was the last time a Jets beat writer broke news?

Cimini claims to all the time.

What he does is every article he writes he makes some kind of a negative guess, or speculation. Pretends it is from an inside source. One out of 20 speculations happens, and Cimini takes the bows. The other 19 guess

NFL teams have very few leaks. Employee’s know if they are caught leaking something to the press that is detrimental to the team they are done in the NFL. Often team PR guys leak thins, that the team wants leaked to influence some type of negotiations.

If you notice most of the stories that are broken are broken by the National reporters not dweebs like Cimini.

Yeah, he keeps it broad. Or he'll take the temperature of the Jets forums and see what people are talking about this week.

Guarantee there's a Sanchez Sophomore slump article coming soon from one these guys. Solely because there's a thread about it now. And to his credit(Cimin's most guilty of this), why not? Its what the people are interested in, might as well feed the beast.

Bob, serious question how old are you?

I'm 22, and reading the Newspaper was never a part of my life. I was raised with the internet, and ESPNs scrolling bottom line - and that lead into things like this forum or Twitter. Now a days we get our news at 6pm not 6am. So picking up a newspaper and rereading something I already know about doesn't do it for me.

I probably have half the attention span if not less of someone 20 years older than me - not afraid to admit it and happy I understand that. If I do read an article I won't read more than the headline and first paragraph or 2. For two reasons, the first being that I'm bored with it already. The second is that I've taken journalism classes and know that everything I need to know is in those 2-3 paragraphs. And there after each paragraph has less significance than the one before it - for editing purposes. If it doesn't fit in its allotted space chop off the last 3 paragraphs and make it fit.

My original post a bit ignorant, I'll give you that. And yes these guys have access to the team on a daily basis, but Adam Schefter and Ochocinco(OCNN) are still breaking news before them. Thats the part I don't understand. Its like these teams will let these local guys in everyday, but when something big is about to happen somehow Schefter is the first one to know.

Two reasons for that. One: The Jets release the things they want out. Why give it to a local market. Go big. Get the National market.

Two: For the most part the teams don

I was gonna say that earlier. He was definitely looking down the road when he made that move.

As for other stuff you said, makes sense.

Also brought this notion to me. Get ready for ALOT of negative Jets articles out of these beat writers, especially from training camp. With the addition of the HBO crew, space will become limited for the local guys, and they'll play second fiddle to the camera's. They WILL take it out on the jets.[/QUOTE]

I agree 100%. It

I agree 100%. It’s why I think it is not a good thing for this team to be on HBO. It will be exciting from a fan information point of view, but guys like Cimini are going to take small clashes, that always happen in camp that nobody knows about, and try to twist them to make themselves a part of the story.

You will be continually hearing about how all the chemistry is gone, and the players don’t like one another.

They will use player friction to make a big story. Try to pit the players against one another. Even make stuff up from “team sources who are not authorized to talk about it”

It will all be rubbish.

I think I'd sign up for Hard Knocks even if it guaranteed we wouldn't win the super bowl. The entertainment value alone is a enough for me.

Plus I'd be lost if the Jets won the Superbowl now. I live for the chase.

A pox upon you. :box:

I would hope the 2012 Mayan legend to be true if it meant the Jets would win the Super Bowl in 2010, and 2011
