Jetfan13
TeamTotalSince ‘05 Since ‘07 Updates Bengals and arrests Posted by jreedy May 10th, 2010, 4:47 pm With the signing of Adam Jones today, CNBC Sports Business reporter Darren Rovell notes that there have been 498 active NFL players arrested since 2000. How did Rovell get this information? Brent Schrotenboer of the San Diego Union-Tribune has compiled a database involving arrests of NFL players since 2000 that were more serious than speeding tickets. Schrotenboer says on the database that the list should not be considered as the comprehensive record but it does help out in charting a couple statistics. Notably … In what should not be considered a shock, the Bengals lead the league in most arrests since 2000 and are tied for most arrests since 2005. When it comes to since ‘07 though there are four teams ahead of them. According to the Union-Tribune there have been 31 arrests involving Bengals since 2000. They are not the runaway leader though. Minnesota trails by one with 30 while Denver, Jacksonville and Kansas City are tied for third with 25. In arrests since 2005, Cincinnati and Jacksonville are tied with 20. Tennessee has 19 and Minnesota and Denver are tied with 17. In arrests since 2007, Jacksonville (15), Denver (12), Miami (12), Tampa Bay (10) and Atlanta (10) have more than the Bengals’ nine. Pittsburgh also has nine while Cleveland has eight and Baltimore four.
Klecko73isGod
The Jets have had only seven players arrested since 2000 and three of those were DUIs. Justin Miller's was by far the worst and Wayne Chrebet's was simply for disorderly conduct. The only team with fewer arrests is the St. Louis Rams. Yet there are reporters out there that have been impugning the Jets' character this offseason.

Has Braylon Edwards done anything stupid since becoming a Jet? Edwards got in a bar fight with one on LeBron James' hangers on. Anyone who spends their life as part of a more successful person's entourage is always questionable to me. I find it almost impossible to believe that Edwards started this fight. Santonio Holmes smoked a joint at the wrong time. Oh my G-d, he's a monster. Antonio Cromartie can't keep his dick in his pants and hasn't mastered effective birth control practices. As far as I know, dude's never broken the law. It's not like we signed Henry Hill and Machine Gun Kelly to play for us.

I consider all three of the things you listed as pretty awesome to awesome. I try to do the second 2 every weekend. And knockin a dude out would just top it all off. Their job is to hit people, I don't expect them to be nice guys. I just think it's a little hypocritical to sit around and say "look our guys didn't do anything serious" and then laugh at all the teams with arrest problems. It's also bull**** acting like the DUI arrests aren't a big deal. It doesn't take too great a leap to end up in Leonard Little or Donte' Stallworth territory. Yeah the thug image the Jets are getting is a bit absurd. I consider all three of the things you listed as pretty awesome to awesome. I try to do the second 2 every weekend. abyzmul
Since the beginning of 2009, 5 current Dolphins have been arrested: Brandon Marshall - 2009 Randy Starks - 2009 Tony McDaniel - 2010 Will Allen - 2010 Ronnie Brown - 2010 and one current Jet: Braylon Edwards - 2009 And yet the Jets are supposed to be the team with character issues. For a team that is being portrayed by some in the media as a bunch of criminals with characters issues, the actual transgressions of the Jets players in question do not equal the premise. I don't think that's really happening. The Jets are in NYC. That's the media capital of the world. As JBro or whoever said in the Cimini thread, these guys are just acting out like shock jocks to stay relevant. Anything to get some name recognition. There isn't any camp activity, so they don't have any up-chucking rookies to harp on, so they chose this topic. I don't think anybody believes that the Jets have become the Bengals or that they will suddenly tolerate players constantly getting suspended. These are the same writers that whined when talented players weren't pursued because they weren't "Mangini guys". Besides, it is a bit of an issue. Holmes, Pace and Ellis can all be considered starters on this team and they will have missed a total of 9 games to suspensions since the start of 2009. It's not the end of the world, but it's something to write about.

Whether it be web traffic, or just total articles about the Jets. I'm trying to figure out if its just the Jets, or if its the NFL in general thats being covered more. Hard to determine with the recent success of the Jets, obviously they'll get more print. But I feel like there's something everyday. Definitely wasn't like this when their were 12 threads about Pennington vs. Clemens.

If nobody is writing about how unproven and due for a sophmore slump for Sanchez (off a less than stellar rookie year) we're probably better off than we think. Blackout
Arrest On 14 May 2009 McIntyre was arrested in Port Saint Lucie after a local woman claimed McIntyre publicly masturbated outside of her home. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of exposure of sexual organs. He was released on $10,000 bail.[5] McIntyre denies the allegations, claiming he was simply on a bike ride that morning—and even offered to show officers the route.[6] McIntyre passed a polygraph test administered by the police on Tuesday May 19. His agent also pointed out that the women described the perpetrator as wearing a white T-shirt, while McIntyre was wearing a blue sweatshirt with a gray long sleeved nylon workout shirt. The manager went on to say the incident was a case of mistaken identity and that, "“Corey feels terrible about the embarrassment that this has brought to the Bills." HardKoreXXX
That doesn't refute anything I said. Just adding some context. You could say someone was arrested for murder, but if you leave out the fact they were later exonerated, it paints a different picture.
