Holmes, not even close.

LT is done. He'll get some stats out of our great line but the fact that he's unable to run hurts him, you know as a running back.

Holmes, even with the suspension could be our leading WR. He's easily the most complete. Has the talent to make the plays Edwards does and the consistency of Cotchery.

LT's going to be a beast. Still don't buy Holmes...

Why don't you buy him? He dominated in college and he dominated in the pros.

Was he being carried by the players around him? In college he had Ted Ginn on the other side and in the pros it was Hines Ward. Big deal.

Holmes and Big Ben had a special connection and I think the Steelers were fools to break them up. BB is going to decline this year.

"We're not a passing team"

I'm afraid this is going to be a false statement by the end of the season.

Cotchery, Edwards, Santonio, Keller, and LT.

All pass-catchers... 3 of them former 1st round selections.

Sanchez is going to get the chance to pass the ball. Frankly, I see our offense being very balanced this season. At least in the first half of games... where we build a lead... then we will pound the living **** out of the ball on the ground and bludgeon teams into submission. Shonn Greene is going to be our "closer."

Move over Mariano, its very likely Greene could become the best closer in NY this season. ;)

Every offensive move we've made this offseason has been a step towards becoming a passing team. LT replacing jones as a better receiver out of the backfield, Holmes(obviously), releasing a declining Faneca for a hopefully better pass blocker in Ducasse.

That doesn't mean we won't be able to run the ball, good running teams aren't built on good RB's they're built on good Olines. There were points last year where teams were stacking the box and we were still running it down their throats. They won't even have that option this year.

No he hasn't dominated the pros...and he's a really big idiot type.

Also...in the pros he was playing with Ward, the Steelers organization, and a top QB too...Not sure what was so special about Holmes and Big Ben together...He had 1 1,000+ yard season there, and it was his last year there.

I'm not saying he's not talented...there's a difference. I don't buy him on this team in this town as he is right now. Right now he's the only top WR on the team without any experience with the QB...Big advantage the other guys there.

Holmes is only so loved here because he just had his best season stats-wise so it's perceived as us buying low. I just think the Steelers don't just give away the young guys they want, and the Steelers know how to find players who win.

Plus...who puts much, if any, stock on a male who takes nude pictures of himself in the shower? We have Ladanian freakin' Tomlinson running for us instead of Thomas Jones...behind an awesome run blocking unit...where's the risk in that?

Does "Super Bowl MVP" have any meaning to you? No one "loves him" yet, especially since he won't be on the field until week 5. I think its potentially a great pickup, and the fact that we went from Chansi Stuckey being our # 2 WR just a year ago to where we currently are makes it look even better.

I don't buy this stuff about NYC being harder to play in. Did playing in Oakland ever make things easier for a Raider player?

Holmes' best year statistically was 07, not 09.

Ward is just a good player, he's not great.

Holmes is the best WR on the Jets roster. The faith some people have in Braylon will get _dropped_ eventually.

Even if LT is "done" as a RB, he can still provide us with some nice plays catching the ball out of the backfield. This makes him an upgrade over Jones, who is done as a runner and offers very little as a receiving RB. I think LT still has something left in the tank as a runner, however, and I'll be interested to see how much burst he has getting through the holes our OL gives him. Jones was always a "take what the OL gives you" type of back.

;)

4 of the 5 are 1st rounders.

We have the potential on offense to have 8 first rounders on the field:

Sanchez

Ferguson

Mangold

Holmes

Edwards

LT

Keller

Woody

Non-1st rounders:

Our LG, whoever it is

Moore

Cotchery or Tony Richardson

It's not harder to play in, it's just different. Oakland isn't NY, nor does it have anything to do with NY. You're not going to convince me that playing in NY is extremely different from playing anywhere else.

Holmes' best year statistically was 07, not 09.
Played more games last year, caught more balls last year, had more yards last year...3 TD advantage in '07.

Ward is just a good player, he's not great.
Ward is a borderline HOF...but even then...OK? Roethlisberger? The Steelers as a franchise in general?

Holmes is the best WR on the Jets roster. The faith some people have in Braylon will get _dropped_ eventually.

HA! I get it...Braylon Edwards drops passes. He's also supposedly the best WR on the Steelers roster, yet they gave him away for pennies and would have just cut him otherwise. How is that not a giant red flag?

The guy's our #3 WR right now, and Edwards will already be on the field 4 more games than him...Everything I see points to Edwards having a way better season than Holmes...

Does "Super Bowl MVP" have any meaning to you?

Not really any at all...What's the predictive value in that?

Advantages Edwards over Holmes:

- He's already played with Sanchez.

- He's already played with the rest of the offense.

- He's already worked with the Jets coaching staff.

- He's playing 4 more games.

- He's bigger.

- He isn't an idiot.

So yea...pretty sizable.

LT's going to outproduce Holmes too.

LT because he will become sanchises security blanket and love his new line

holmes is the 4th option in the passing game from my pov

(edwards,keller,cotch,LT)

+1

Edwards, Keller, Cotchery, Holmes, LT.

The Holmes pick up was a "hey we won't take a WR in the first round, but we'll get a nice name so you'll stfu about the all important slot WR hole" move. If you'll recall, slot WR was a top 3 fan "need," and right now this a team that really wants to keep their fans happy with the team. Holmes is obviously really nice depth to have, but he's a luxury and I expect he'll be treated as such within the offense. Our 3 WR sets should look really good though...

Oh, also another Edwards advantage:

- Braylon is a muuuuuuuuch better run blocker.

What am I missing here? Of course it's Holmes. Holmes or Braylon would have been a better poll.

Signing LT is the worst move of the Tanny era (besides Gholston of course).

It reminds me of the signing s of the 90's, of guy lilke R. Lott, etc. Just trying to make some noise.

But the thing is, they don't need to do that now, we have a Super Bowl contender.

By the end of the year Holmes will be the number one. And Braylon is gone in the off-season.

Braylon is a great blocker though.

Man, I dont even know where to start. All I am going to say is that some people are underestimating Holmes so much that they will just have to watch the games when he comes back mid season to understand. Holmes provides us with a deep threat that Cotchery cant and his hands are more consistent and clutch than Edwards is. Chemistry could be a problem, but Holmes is easily the best OVERALL receiver on the Jets right now in terms of just outright every specification you can ask for a receiver. OOOOO Braylon is big and hes a good blocker oooooo......Well thats why theres a group made of five individuals called an offensive line.
