Matt39
This team looks asleep right now. Teixeira has been god awful. Randy Wynn sucks. Thames sucks. The bullpen has been crap. Nick Johnson was a joke. Cano has cooled off after carrying the team in April.

Nick Johnson was a joke. Cano has cooled off after carrying the team in April. An interesting stat I heard from Jon Miller during last night's ESPN telecast about Tex was that he not only is stinking up the joint now, but this is a carry over from the playoffs through the WS. I forgot all about that. Oh, and Wynn, Thames and Johnson were horrible signings...and if Javy doesn't turn it around, add him to the list. Bob
Add an idiot manager to the injuries and slumps and you've got a problem. That said, I expect injuries will heal and the team will carry Clueless Joe to at least a division title. Just like last year, there's too much talent to fail. The starting pitching has been pretty good.
Jetsfan80
Figures. You guys just win a title, and it only takes until May before the whining starts up again. Go figure.
Maxman
I am not worried. The Yankees have the 2nd best record in the AL. They are a half game behind the Phillies for the 2nd best record in baseball. Perspective.

Bugg
I am not worried. The Yankees have the 2nd best record in the AL. They are a half game behind the Phillies for the 2nd best record in baseball. Perspective. It's a long season. The only injury that is a serious concern is Posada, because he's 38 and still insists on playing catcher. It's clear the pitching staff is better with Cervelli behind the plate. But Nick Johnson doesn't figure to darken the batter's box more than 100 times more this season if at all, so this might work out. Still Girardi know he has an older tem and that would mean less change of resting Jeter, Arod and Texeira as a DH once or twice a week. The bullpen and starters will be better. There hasn't been a more welcome and needed off day in Yankee history.

Jetsfan80
It's called being spoiled. 27 titles will do that for you... It must be like feast and famine rooting for the Yankees & Jets. I've always rooted for the "shadow teams" (Jets, Mets, Devils, Nets), with only the Devils having any substantial success in the last decade. Even my alma mater, UNCW, has and probably will always be overshadowed by all the big programs in NC. Although, it doesn't seem like we're going to have to wait much longer for a Jets Super Bowl victory.
shawn306
I don't see alot right now to be concerned about other than Joba who looks lost out there right now and the Rays (who might be the best team in MLB) I don't think Winn will be here much longer. He is awful. The rest, just need to get healthy (Posada) or start hitting (Tex-A-Rod).
Otter
The bullpen is the only thing that really bothers me about the Yankees right now. Outside of Rivera, I don't trust anybody out there. Hopefully Aceves will be back soon. As for the hitters, the injured guys will come back and Teixiera will start hitting again. I'm just hoping this all comes together before the Rays put any more distance between themselves and the Yankees.

Nick Johnson was a joke. Cano has cooled off after carrying the team in April. The offense will pick up big time once Granderson and Posada come back. Posada needs to stay at DH the rest of the season we need his bat in the lineup. Hopefully Granderson comes back and stays healthy. If not I think Jermaine Dye has to be a consideration for Left Field/DH.
