Interesting. In my family's case, I was given the relatively common name (Kenneth aka Ken aka Kenny), whereas my sister was given a highly UNCOMMON name (Chapin).

sounds like your parents were Harry Chapin fans and just didnt have the heart to name you Harry.

Maybe your last name made it a bad choice..

Yep, big Harry Chapin fans. I was named Ken after my Dad. I'd be pretty pissed if they named me Harry. Harry and Chapin.....God that would be terrible.
