SJ Reviews: 'Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work'.. Great Behind Scenes Documentary (3)

Rivers comes across as personable to those in her inner circle, but as someone insecure financially as she turns NOTHING down. She is seen in one clip telling a ad exec, 'I will wear a diaper ' in a commercial for right cash'.

s I have ever seen. This documentary is playing at Indie houses currentry and is a flat out great behind the scenes look at show biz.

It might not be everyones 'cup of tea', but for those who like comedians, show biz and documentaries you will be thouroghly entertained. The crowd in theater was laughing out loud all night.

The premise is that cameras followed Rivers for 1 year both in front of camera and behind the scenes. This means, hotel checkins, her house, working with her assistant, kitchen scenes etc. We see her stage act which is MUCH more R rated than you have seen on TV.

Much of it is downright hiilarious. Never heard Stories of Paar, Carson etc are priceless also.

We see her having less than classy gigs at Indian casinos, and a re-emergence during the Apprentice behind the scenes clips.

Rivers is very self deprecating and this really makes this flick more accessble to common man.

Again, for those who like show business and behind the scenes looks at such, this is a must.

I wonder if the person who wrote this has a trust fund or something. People need money and only daddy gives it to you for free.

huh???

she has mega millions, yet she takes gigs for a few thousand at Indian casinos in some cases..

her own team tells her to say no to some gigs she doesnt need the money at its demeaning in some cases..
