rillo
Maybe your battery has some dead cells in it, have you ever replaced the battery before? How long have you had it? It's never a good idea to leave your phone on the charger after it's been charged, it kills the battery.

sirlancemehlot
Have you tried dropping it from a great height or calling it filthy names? I use this technique with everything from animals to electronics to other people's poorly behaved children. It doesn't always work but never fails to cheer me up. And isn't happiness what life's all about?

Didnt know u shouldnt do that. Was the phone brand new? or refurb? I don't know too much about Blackberries but if it has one of those lithium batteries that could be the problem, lithium batteries need to be 'cycled', which sucks because most people charge their phones while they sleep. It's the Lithium ion D-X1 battery. The phone died yesterday and I've had it on the charger ever since. 18 hours later it's still dead. i think it might be a charger issue. I dunno *sigh* I have no phone and I wanna pull my hair out.

If you only had it for a week, they should be able to give you a replacement battery or charger, unless you bought it off someone, and you're stuck. But a battery/charger is cheaper than buying a phone.....look on the bright side, and don't pull that hair out.
MadBacker Prime
It's either your battery, charger, or connection to the charger. Head to your carrier and they'll test all 3.

The AT&T contract ends in 2012, so that might be the case. That or this class action lawsuit against both companies could be secretly Apple driven and might result in freeing up the Iphone. Didnt know u shouldnt do that. If it is new, take it back. If not, see if a friend has one and swap the battery, charger etc. to try and trouble shoot the issue. Hopefully, in your area, you have something like a Phone Doctor store. It is a cell pawn shop. It will not be cheap, but it is not full price either. http://forums.crackberry.com/

Also going back and correcting a prior word or sentence when typing an email is obnoxious with a touchscreen and easy (and fast) with the trackball. When you add the inability to have a spare battery, a lot of people don't want to replace a BB for an iPhone for work. Particularly if you have to reply to a dozen or more emails per day from your phone.

That or this class action lawsuit against both companies could be secretly Apple driven and might result in freeing up the Iphone. Verizon Wireless reportedly offering Apple iPhone in January By Jeff Chiu, APThe new Apple iPhone 4. Bloomberg News Verizon Wireless will start selling Apple's iPhone next year, ending AT&T's U.S. exclusive on the phone, say two people familiar with the plans. The device will be available to customers in January, according to the people, who declined to be named because the information isn't public. Natalie Kerris, an Apple spokeswoman, and Jeffrey Nelson, a Verizon Wireless spokesman, declined to comment. AT&T also declined to comment. USA TODAY was unable to independently verify the reports. Speculation on a Verizon iPhone has been rampant in the tech blogosphere. If the reports are true, the iPhone, which has been the sole domain of rival AT&T in the U.S. since June 2007, will give Verizon a boost in its smartphone competition, UBS analyst John Hodulik says. Verizon customers, who numbered 92.8 million at the end of the first quarter, may buy 3 million iPhones a quarter, he says. iPHONE 4 SALES: Consumers buy 1.7 million in 3 days "Apple is going to dramatically increase the number of devices it sells in the U.S. when exclusivity at AT&T ends," Hodulik says. "It's hard to ignore the quality issues that AT&T has faced." Verizon Wireless, which is building a high-speed fourth-generation network, plans to unveil several devices that will run on the new technology in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, CEO Lowell McAdam has said. Verizon's CDMA-based wireless network differs from the GSM technology AT&T's network is based on. The iPhone has helped AT&T add subscribers even as the U.S. mobile-phone market nears saturation. In the first three months of this year, about a third of AT&T's iPhone activations came from customers new to the carrier. Without those 900,000 new subscribers, AT&T might have posted a loss in contract customers that quarter, analysts say. AT&T has battled customer complaints about its network and dedicated an extra $2 billion to upgrade it this year. A Verizon partnership is a victory for Apple over rivals such as Research In Motion and Motorola, whose phones are promoted by the carrier. Motorola makes Droid phones that use Google's Android operating system. RIM makes BlackBerrys. "For Apple, it means a larger addressable market," says Andy Hargreaves, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities. "It's also good news for Apple in that it will spread the load on the wireless data networks." Apple has sold more than 50 million iPhones since their introduction. The latest version, iPhone 4, sold more than 1.7 million units in the first three days after its June 24 debut. A release at Verizon in the first quarter would help Apple's sales in the U.S. grow to at least 15 million units next year from 11 million in 2010, Barclays Capital analysts said in a note Tuesday. Apple's suppliers have been ramping up production of components for a phone on Verizon's CDMA network, according to the research report.

MadBacker Prime
That Verizon rumor has been circulating for 2 years now and Apple or Verizon has not confirmed it. Out agency uses AT&T and Verizon and they both told me 2012. I would love Verizon to offer it in January but AT&T's contract does go through 2011. So we'll see- It has been going on for a long time now when it comes to Verizon getting the iPhone, Apple iPhone 4 or CDMA iPhone, these are the words we have all heard over and over again. Well now it is most knowledgeable about the action lawsuit against Apple and AT&T that has been filed based on the charges of monopoly abuse, and USA News Week have brought up a good article on the matter, we will add our own little bit into the equation as well just to get you thinking a little more. The lawsuit has now been given the go ahead by US federal judge, in a nutshell to keep it simple Apple and AT&T the exclusive carriers of the iPhone 4 will have to face more problems after a few issues, and we know these are to do with reception problems with the antenna and AT&T’s apparent dismal services. If Apple does lose the lawsuit case it will mean they cannot sell any iPhones with exclusive carriers in the US along with major costs and legal fees. Once the AT&T exclusivity ends this will make way for Verizon to gain the iPhone, Verizon iPhone 4 could make its release sometime in January 2011. So like Europe the US is now fighting this exclusivity, and if Apple does lose 2011 could happen. It is my belief that Apple is the driving force behind this lawsuit because they could sell a ton more Iphones.
rillo
Apple needs to fix the problems with the current iPhone before they even think about offering an iPhone on Verizon IMO. I've read some articles that suggest Apple should do a recall, but Apple doesn't want to admit to the problem. Stay tuned!

It may mean that AT&T was getting a bad rep when the problem was with the iPhone.
