TNJet
The funny thing is if "god forbid" Sanchez goes down, Brunell doesnt have the ability nor knowledge of the offense of even Clemens or Ainge. Rex is dumb sometimes about wanting every free agent available that ever accomplished something at one point. I'm sure i'm not the only one worried that T.O. keeps being unsigned. Rex signs T.O. and he's a total putz.

JMJ
Something tells me that Clemens will still be the #2. Brunell I believe is being signed to more or less be a 2nd QB coach (but in pads) to help Sanchez (and Clemens) as Sanchez has never had a veteran QB on the roster to help him out in the film room and on the sidelines the way most young QBs do. ANother good post. I think for reassurance Brunell should be required to wear sandles gameday to just make sure he doesn;t end up behind center by accident. GodWearsAGrayHoodie
if we lose sanchez we're screwed. Sanchez is not that good of a qb. He did a decent job for a rookie but he is not the key to the jets success. If the Jets lose Revis, then the Jets are screwed. Sanchez would just be a minor blip. The veteran quarterback stuff is very overrated when you already have your franchise qb in his second season. And for the filmroom advice Sanchez has had plenty its called an offensive coordinator, and qb coach. They always know more than a washed up has been with no knowledge of the jets offense. Brunell has less chances of helping us win than Clemens,Ainge,or O'connell. Lets be realistic here. Young and inexperienced yes, incapable of playing qb? no way. Even Brady was once thought of as a non factor until he got a chance to show his stuff. Who knows that Ainge or O'connell may not be better than we know? Although not likely, i have seen it happen ever since i have watched football. Add in the fact all our backups know our playbook front to back and Brunell is the odd man out at the age of 40. Add in the fact all our backups know our playbook front to back and Brunell is the odd man out at the age of 40. i hear ya both. you've gotta assume the coaches know what they've got in ainge/o'connell better than we do. i can only guess the jets are planning for the eventuality that sanchez misses at most 3 games. in that situation maybe they think one of the younger guys will feel too much pressure to "show something" which will lead to mistakes while a vet like burnell will just hand the ball off and not make mistakes and let the D control the game. if sanchez is lost for the season and the season is out of reach, the younger guys will likely get their shot. If he becomes a player this year, the Jets are true SB contenders...and not just hype. This team would be just fine without Revis. If Sanchez goes down, Kellen or Brunnel would kill us. visajets
MB will never take a snap in a regular season game as a NYJET. The QB we keep Ainge or O'Connol will be the primary backup. KC is costing us too much $$$$ and hes already proven he cannot get the job done.

stoicsentry
If we sign Brunell, we'll have more QBs on the roster than defensive linemen. We'll have more QBs than linebackers. LOL Ok probably an exaggeration but to be honest with you, without looking this stuff up, I'm not actually sure.... Sanchez Clemens Ainge O'Connell Smith (capable of) Brunell SIX!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Rex is an innovator, he is working on the first all 6 QB-5 OL offensive look. That way, no matter whether the Jets are playing offense or defense, quarterbacks will constantly be getting smashed!!!!!! REX QB SMASH!!!!!!
