This story sounds like lazy police work. Why would a 14 year old slash the throats of his siblings, his mother, set the apartment on fire then slash his own throat with an old razor? Makes no damn sense.

A Staten Island teen fatally slashed his two sisters' throats early today, then set his home ablaze -- killing himself, his mother and 2-year-old brother in a grisly murder-suicide, law-enforcement sources said.

The victims included Leisa Jones, 30, her 2-year-old son Jermaine; 7-year-old daughter Melanie; 9-year-old daughter Brittany; and 14-year-old son C.J., who committed the murders, the sources said.

The fire was deemed suspicious from the start, with police and fire officials confirming this afternoon that three kids were found with their throats slashed before the place was set ablaze.

Law-enforcement sources said C.J. slashed Melanie and Brittany, before setting the fire and then cutting his own throat inside 302 Nicholas Ave. in Port Richmond at about 4 a.m.

A razor was found under C.J.'s body in a seperate room when officials went through the charred remains.

"They were such wonderful kids," said neighbor Christine Valentin, who

that kind of anger is usually a result of abuse, most likely sexual.

Really? A 14 yr old not only slashes his mom and siblings's throats but his own? Then sets the apt on fire? Sounds like BS to me!

Seems to me that someone else did it and set the apt of fire to cover up evidence.

DLJ please enlighten us with your educational degree, employment history, and crime scene / forensic investigation experience that has brought you to this conclusion. It's obvious that you know much more than the Detectives, Forensic Investigators, & Coroner in this matter.

I hate all the hate on law enforcement. Any time something seems out of the ordinary, the cops automatically set it up, and it's a huge conspiracy cover-up. I can't wait until I get my degree in Criminal Justice and put lawbreakers away. I'm sick of people always claiming that all cops are corrupt and use violence.

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.

Could seem kind of far fetched to me too without knowing more details. It would be pretty interesting to see how they figured out that he did it. I mean, so there was a razor blade under him, how can you tell that he did it just from that? There must be a lot of stuff that isn't mentioned in the article. Apparently they could tell somehow that three of the kids were killed before the fire and the boy after it? Would be good for one of those CSI shows I'd bet.
