Isn't it amazing how the most obscure facts about your life can stick with you for years and years?

To this day, I can still remember the very first time I heard Steve Somers on WFAN as a kid and what he was talking about. It was around the time Mattingly's skills were declining and the Yankees were about to start a road trip in Minnesota. Somers talked about how he thought that was going to be the road trip where Mattingly would turn things around and become the Donnie of old. Of course, he never did...but from that day on I was a huge fan of "shcmoozing a little bit of S-P-O-R-T-S with Eddie Scazerie (sp) on the other side of the glass". I even had a few casette tapes I saved as a kid from all the time I called the show to talk Jets/Yankees/Rangers.
