Yes, but how do I give it?

Guys people read this stuff from work. The censor isn't out there but no need to push it with cursing.

Rep is installed...just not showing in the postbit. I will get that fixed.

In light of the 2d circuit opinion in Fox Television Stations, et al., v. FCC in which the court put the uck back in F*** and roundly condemning censorship maybe we should leave the censor off.

As for the concern that people are reading this blog at work. I would assume more people would get in trouble for reading a football blog at work when they should be working (regardless of the whether cursing was prevalent or not) than would get in trouble for reading naughty words but the boss would be okay with them wasting time on non-work related Internet stuff. I really doubt many bosses would be okay with someone spending the day posting football stuff, but then go nuts cause some of the posts had four letter words.

Super. Do that with your forum.

Not all employers equate all non-business websites with non-business websites that contain profanity, nudity, etc. There are more people in an office than the worker and the boss. Sometimes it is a co-worker walking past a screen laced with profanity that causes problems for the employer, employee, or both. It's easier for an employer, then, to just ban visiting this website at work. Welcome to planet earth of the past couple of decades. Glad you could join us.

Maybe we should add some more tiers so not everyone has Excellent rep? (Change the name of Excellent too). That should kickstart the system.

Does that mean we can talk about how gay the mods are anymore? Because technically employers frown up making fun of the gheys of the world.

That would be intruding on where I would personally draw the line. Totally different.

An employer would be much more at risk of being sued if an employee was offended by another employee reading or posting sexually offensive, homophobic, racial, or anti-semitic jokes than if the other employee was reading something like, "McNight is a ******* bum that needs to be cut." As such most employers are going to be more upset with someone participating in a forum that has sexually offensive, homophobic, racial, or anti-semitic jokes than profanity. If the purpose of some sort of censorship program is to protect reader from getting in trouble at work than that stuff needs to be go, even more so than the profanity.

I'm stunned that a computer nerd of your magnitude would be impressed by anything. Usually, you're a douche about stuff like this.

Since when do we condone homophobic, racial, or anti-semitic jokes?

Again, when you start your own board, you may make your own rules to fight all that you believe is unjust, unfair, or incorrect in the world.. In the meantime, you know what the rules are here. Please abide by them.

Post #20 in this thread or Mandarinia auto signature are both more likely to get an employer sued and thus more likely to get an employee in trouble. While I personally don't object to either of them, if Max is truly interested in protecting those who read this board at work it would be best that those be banned/deleted as well.

Sperm - This ain't your board either, its Max's. And I can express my opinion as to what I would like or dislike. Max, NOT YOU, can then choose to accept or reject my opinion.
