Ghost
He's the best player in the leauge, IMO. The consistency he showed last year was unbelievable. The season goes down as one of the best ever. I wish we can figure this out because it's getting out of hand. Good news is.. BREAKING: #Jets & Darrelle Revis' camp spoke in last 24 hrs; contract solution may not be far behind http://tinyurl.com/2c94hcz

JiFtheOracle
Meh, no he really isnt. Having one great season does not constitute being the best player in the NFL. Not at all. That said, I'd probably take 10-15 players over Revis if I was to start a team from scratch right now.

Not many players in the league that are in Revis' league talent-wise, and far fewer than that have as many years ahead of them in this league. I'd like to see that list. Fifth Amendment
IMO its silly to say this or that player is the best in the league. I mean, how do you compare a Revis with a Wilfork or a Rodgers, or a Chris/Andre Johnson? They're all great players, just leave it at that. And yeah, there are at least 10-15 players in the league you'd have to consider taking ahead of Revis. None of them are DB's of course, but the top tier QB's, LT's, and DE's, are more valuable IMO. JiFtheOracle
Are you serious? Are you? 1 season does not earn you that honor. Really? Dude, get over it...there are plenty of players with just as much talent. You are way too far up Revis's ass. Sure. Manning Brees Brady Rodgers Rivers Ware Allen Ngata Willis Kevin Williams Wilfork Chris Johnson Freeney And I'd even make a case for some of the elite WR's Johnson, Fitzgerald, maybe AP...plenty of guys I'd take before a CB like Revis to start my franchise. Most important position after QB is left tackle. Personally I would take Long, but if you want Clady or Joe Thomas instead that would be reasonable, all three are pretty young, but you need tackle on that list. I'd actually go for one of the elite WR's before I went with most of your top QB's - only because of the age factor. Aaron Rogers I can definitely see, but not a 34 year old Peyton Manning. Which, as I stated originally, is a big reason that Revis would be very, very high on my list starting a franchise from scratch. I definitely disagree with your DL being more valuable than Revis, too. You're going to start a team with a 28-29 year old NT over a 25 year old "best CB in the game"? Dwight Freeney and Kevin Williams are 30. And Chris Johnson? Really? I know that you know that RB is the shortest career in the game, and the most easily replaceable position. You can't mean that. Most important position after QB is left tackle. Personally I would take Long, but if you want Clady or Joe Thomas instead that would be reasonable, all three are pretty young, but you need tackle on that list. Screw the LT position. It's importance is the most overrated thing in football.

Freeney, Williams, Ware, Manning, Brady, Fitzgerald, Johnson (Dre), Allen, Williams, etc, Revis doesn't belong in their category yet. Those are guys who have dominated year in and year out for several years straight. Revis has been dominant for one year, with two good years before that. Time will tell where he belongs, but there's no need to bust out the anointing oil just yet.
