Quarterback Pat White, the Dolphin's second-round pick in 2009, was one of two players not to show up Friday, joining backup cornerback Evan Oglesby according to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post.

Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano did not speak with the media after practice (he gave a press conference beforehand), and the Dolphins declined to comment on White’s whereabouts, fueling speculation that the Dolphins are attempting to trade or release White. Two messages left with White’s agent have not yet been returned as of late Friday afternoon.

yea Armondo from The Herald tweeted the other day that it's more like Sporano and the Dolphins don't even want him to show up

Is he a bad guy? Or is it just that he was a terrible draft pick?

Big deal? Pat White will practice today

There was much speculation about why Pat White missed the first day of training camp Friday. There are reports he will miss the entire season.

Perhaps.

But I'm told he is expected to work today, even if on a limited basis.

So we'll see about that.

White was one of two players absent from work on Friday. I have no report on whether Evan Oglesby will be on the field today.

The Dolphin's have 4 QBS including White. White was drafted to be a wildcat QB but it turns out although he can run okay he can't throw that well. As in Ronnie Brown is a better QB. But he can catch the ball and the Dolphins want to make him a WR. He doesn't want to be a WR. Hence the drama.

You saw what happened to him last season when he ran with the ball..why would he want to be a reciever and face the same situations? And BTW, I live in SoFla and I haven't heard anything about him switching to wr, where did you hear that?

Not likely. More likely he will wind up in the minor leagues of baseball. He turned a 6 figure offer to play baseball for the Angels to play college football. He has tweeted that he would rather play baseball than become a WR.

Read it a while ago. Don't recall the exact source. I think it was a minor story inside a larger story about the impact of Pennington health. Might have merely been speculation by that particular report though.

Either way Armondo just RT'd this: ArmandoSalguero RT NO. @Mike71277: If the Dolphins sign QB Tommy Grady is that a sign Pat White's days are over in Miami?

Pat White should have been playing baseball all along because thats his best sport. Being a left hander is such a blessing to anyone who wants to play in MLB. As a football player he just doesn't have it. And his 4.6 forty time isn't going to make him a WR either.
