Hey guys,

The Dolphins opened training camp yesterday and the fans and media are expecting big things. The additions of Marshall and Dansby plus a solid draft have Fin fans thinking "super." Tom Brady came out yesterday and made it clear that he likes what he has in New England and is not overly concerned with the Jets or Miami. Who's the bigger threat here?!

I will always consider the Dolphins bigger rivals, but until Tom Brady retires i consider New England a bigger threat.

+1

I'm not worried about Brandon Marshall at all. As long as Revis shows up, he won't.

Despite Miamis fluke division crown 2 years ago the Patriots are still kings of the division until we knock em out. They still have more talent than Miami and a far far better QB so you got to say NE is much more of a threat. Bring it on.

IMHO the real question is who is the Jets biggest threat here, not who the Pats biggest threat is.

I see the Pats and their secondary woes putting them on a par with Fish, while Jets are team to beat this year in AFC-E.

Sid, any truth to rumors you are returning to WFAN fulltime?

The 'phins fanbase is delusional, but the addition of Mike Nolan should make their defense a heck of a lot more interesting. I'm not sure they have the players they need, though - safeties are suspect and I don't see a pass rush from them without blitzing. Offensive Henne looked great for a while and then fell off some. I think D-coordinators will have a little something different for him this year. The Pats are two injuries away from third place but are a better team than the 'phins. Welcome to The Nation.

The Pats are more of a threat than the Fins this season as they have a great QB who is always dangerous, something the Fins aren't close to yet.The Jets utterly dominated the Fins the last game they played them and would have blown them out if not for two FLUKE return TD's by Ted Ginn and a fumble recovery TD by Taylor.

That's 21 non offensive points. They can't count on that two more times this season. They had a total of about 104 yards in that game offensively, that's running AND passing.

When both teams bring their A game the Fins don't have a shot.

for the division title I'd have to go with the pats, but in a head to head match up the phags

This is New England's division until someone wins it more than 1 year in a row. (Us in 2002, Miami 2 years ago). If Welker is healthy, and Brady is standing in the pocket, the safe pick is New England as a bigger threat. Miami could be a contender, but I think too many people in South Florida are drinking the koolaide. I do not think they have the defense to contend yet. Either way, we have the most talented team, and it's up to us to make a move this year.

The bigger threat is the Patriots. As far as the Jets are concerned, they are still the champs until somebody really knocks them out. Hopefully the Jets take care of that part this year.

The Dolphins? A bunch of question marks there. But I am sure they improved their team this offseason. Any board meeting that has Gloria Estafan and J-Lo in it just wreaks of football knowledge.

Sid, Sid, Sid... I see you're peddling your crap here now as well. Just like you did at ThePhins.com when you attacked the fanbase as "transparent"

You start off with a "Hey guys, how do you feel about the season?" BS, then you'll start some kind of controversy and use it as shtick for your show. THEN you'll cry and whine for 20 minutes while Florio talks you off the ledge. Sad stuff.

It's getting old REAL quick buddy. And with the Lebron/Bosh/Wade stuff making LeBatard's show pure gold right now, I think it's gonna be a tough haul for you.

Sorry Max and the other mods for this mini-rant, but he pulled this crap at our site then proceeded to blast said site on the radio while providing no context. He'll do the same here as well if you let him. He literally has no other material for his show, apparently.

This is the Patriots division with a healthy Brady and BB running the show. Until someone knocks them off their throne, it remains that way.

Even though the Dolphags have won the last 3 meetings, I think the Jets really end up beating themselves in those games. As long as the Jets can get out of their own way against the Dolphags, we should have no problem.

Let me get this straight. You are accusing him (Sid) of coming here so he can mention http://JetNation.com on his radio show, and we are supposed to be mad about that?

The Dolphins are the bigger rival, hands down, but the bigger threat? It isn't even close. It's New England. Miami hasn't improved enough to take over the Jets, let alone the Patriots who are still the class of the division until we, or Miami, prove otherwise. We are still 2nd class to New England until we take the East this season (hopefully).

Last time I looked New England has won this division multiple years in a row. End of question.

Well said. The Dolphins have made some moves this offseason and the Pats are the Pats. It is not for me a question of who is the bigger threat, but knowing that unless the Jets are on their game, either one of these teams can beat them. The Jets were were swept by the Fins last year, and the Fins got better. So it is not about being threatened, it is about hoping that the changes that have been made will bring success. On paper, the Jets look great(Exception being RB), but whether this will translate into a Super season, only time will tell, but man I hope so.

He may or may not mention JN. He may just say "That Jets website". The point is, he manufactured a controversy at ThePhins, just so he could use it for material on his show. He called out the fans to get a response. I'm accusing him of a lame shtick.

Very well put. All three teams have reasons to feel good about 2010 and all three have serious question marks. I think it'll come down to who stays healthy, and who wins the close games. No way to tell in August, so I wont even try.

Well they've "only" won it one year in a row (Miami won it by pure luck in 2008) but New England has dominated this division other than two years (the other being the 2002 Jets) this entire decade.

If we win the division this year and advance farther in the playoffs in 2010, then maybe we can start talking about running this division. Only then.

I agree with that premise. But we are Jets fans, so if the Jets have a two game lead in the division at any point in the season I am sure we will start talking then.

What, no exterminator with the new site upgrades?

Sid, mine is a two part question. I'm still curious, what were the "hard-hitting" "in depth" questions that you were going to ask Brandon Marshall, before Parcells took the interview away? What was so special and Earth shattering about your questions, that we hadn't already heard in court, in other interviews and from past news paper articles?

As well, what is productive about digging up the past negatives in a players life, besides ones own self serving motives, like trying to improve your ratings by creating a non-existent controversy. You know, like Jerry Springer and Maury Povich do on their shows.

Just curious.

Max, like XXX I apologize for doing his here, but Sid really did come after us Dolphin fans on our own board in a pathetic manner. Started a thread badmouthing the fanbase and then never came back to answer for himself. If you'd like, I'll PM you the link.
