Holmes Delayed; Clemens, Jenkins to Active PUP

Posted by Eric Allen on August 1, 2010 – 12:45 pm

Santonio Holmes, who is attending to a family matter, has had his mandatory training camp report time changed to Wednesday, Aug. 4.

The Jets also placed QB Kellen Clemens (calf) and NT Kris Jenkins (hamstring) on the active PUP list. When both players are cleared to practice, they’ll be eligible to immediately come off the list.

With the jenkins move I see it as the Jets just being extra cautious for him before they let hinm start regular practice.Still do not expect him to get more than say 60 per cent of snaps no matter what

It's probably because Jenkins was on a "cookie" diet these past 4 months and instead of eating healthy and losing weight. I mean you think a pro athlete would know more about nutrition and why a big fat guy shouldn't be eating a diet filled with sugar. He probably lost 27 pounds of muscle this off-season and is on track to get diabetes.

Wondering if the Clemens move is a pre trade move. Don’t know what they could get for him, but you never know

Jenkins is NOT on the PUP because he got Injured this year, he is on the PUP because he is rehabbing his hammy. They used a graft off of his hammy to repair his knee last year. They are taking it slow with him.

:D These aren’t really cookies. They are super high protein, with very little sugar

yea you are right i was misinformed about the sugar content but its still a horrible diet for an athlete to use and these types of diets are usually very short term weight loss that lead to further weight gain. Its a super low cal diet that lacks vitamins and fiber/carbs which isn't really ideal for someone who is supposed to be getting in shape for the season. I dont know someone with his money could afford to hire some better nutritionists and probably a chef to make meals that would be better for him than eating that crap.

You can't be serious, he has a whole supplement regiment, and a nutritionists, he's not just eating cookies, he's following a whole top notch wait loss plan.

Get a clue!

Yes clearly its working whatever he has since he ballooned to 385 pounds before he started the diet

The cookie diet is not top notch and some consider it dangerous. Get a clue!

Do you honestly think he's just eating cookies, and is not being monitored and advised by a top notch nutritional/medical professional?

Come on!

there was an article I think in Friday's paper he has lost 35 pounds or so and wants to lose like 20 more by end of camp- common sense tells you it is not only cookies and bad cookies that he is eating though.
