Mandarinia
So I want to learn the guitar or bass. But from what I hear guitar is little easier to learn first (bass cords are harder to press down so learn the guitar first to get the muscle memory down.) Anyone have suggestions // point me in the right direction to a good and relativity cheap first guitar. And if you have any tips that would be great

They're made by Gibson and are great sounding and great and easy playing. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Hummingbird-Acoustic-Guitar?sku=518028&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=40649576

You don't really need to know bass chords when you're starting out, just single notes........possibly 2 finger chords, but you don't necessarily use these a lot. I taught my son the bass first, and he picked it up pretty quickly. Not a lot of chord playing on the bass, and I think the wider spacing of the strings makes it easier to learn for absolute beginners. He made the transition to guitar with relative ease, too. Depending on what you want to play, I'd consider getting an electric guitar before you get an acoustic. The strings are easier to press down, and with a little practice amp like a Roland Cube you'll sound pretty good pretty quickly - and that's the kind of positive reinforcement you'll need to keep playing.
