sirlancemehlot
How awesome would it be if his missed extra point was the Jets' biggest problem? If we lose in the playoffs by a missed chip-shot, or drop three games and miss the playoffs alltogether on his shoddy kicking this season, then Nick's penchant for inconsistency will be the Jets biggest problem. Unless Jason Taylor can win three games and kick a FG on his own this year. Stupid Nick Folk. And to think we created this problem so we could hire the one player most Jets fans have most despised over the last decade. Seriously. Who thought executing that plan would pay any dividends? sirlancemehlot
Like the way Feely choked in AFCC game? We got the game, didn't we? Nick Folk couldn't sniff Feely's Jock if you look at the actual kicking numbers from last year. Nate Kaeding is better than Folk, but he choked in a few memorable games too. As per 2009 ESPN statistical rankings: Jay Feely Rank 3 Nick folk Rank 23 (3-way tie) Jay Feely 40-49 yds 11 of 14 Nick Folk 40-49 yds 5 of 12 Jay Feely kicking pct. 83.3 Nick Folk kicking pct. 64.
Jetkid94
this thread is ridiculous. He's produced the most offensively then anyone else on the team. He's also hit quite a few 40+ yarders.

He had a pretty good rookie year. One thing Folk doesn't have is a SNL skit based around him choking. Jay Feely has that and no matter what Folk does, he will never be able to take that away from him.

And until Feely becomes a transvestite and starts kidnapping place-kicking dolphins, he'll be ok in my book. Of course, if he becomes a transvestite and starts kidnapping placekicking dolphins, I might actually like him more. But then, I've probably revealed too much about myself. SenorGato
Preseason sucks and means nothing. Only way I'd cut Folk is if the Cards cut one of the kickers or the Packers for some reason cut Mason Crosby.
stoicsentry
He still choked. He's so much better than Nick Folk, it's not even close. Folk does look better on kickoffs but the guy was terrible last year, terrible in early camp, and he just missed a PAT. Jay's kicks in Indy were NOT chip shots and I don't care what kind of dome statistics you want to use to distort that. He kicked (and punted) us into the championship game, and because he missed two FGs (that wouldn't have even won the game, mind you) then all of the sudden everything he did for us is irrelevant... Field goals are IMPORTANT. Jay is a much better field goal kicker. BOTTOM LINE.

But with Pace out for a few weeks, signing Folk let the Jets also sign Jason Taylor. The dynamic in the NFL is weird these days. But that's how it works... Why is it good that we signed that rat bastard? And Max, how is it that after five years and over 1650 posts, I'm still a "rookie"? I'm no star, granted, but I think I've earned "journeyman long-snapper" status at minimum.

stoicsentry
What has Folk done for us that was worse? Revis has done worse FOR US than Cromartie, therefore, Cromartie is the better player. I see how this works...
