SouthernJet
Bill Parcells is stepping back from Dolphins control Bill Parcells is stepping back. Effecitive immediately Jeff Ireland will assume full control over all decisions pertaining to the Miami Dolphins. This according to a short, carefully worded statement just out from the Dolphins. In other words, Parcells has given full personnel control to Ireland effective immediately as he previously had given Tony Sparano full coaching control. And, yes, this is clearly a first and important step signaling Parcells intention to depart the organization. The full statement from the Dolphins reads as follows: "Effective immediately, Jeff Ireland will assume full control over all aspects and decisions in regard to the Miami Dolphin football team and support staff. This was the intent of the structure put in place in the past. Bill Parcells will remain with the club on a daily consultant basis." flgreen
At the time the fish signed Marshall, I heard a discussion on a local Sports talk show saying Parcells wasn’t good with the signing. At the time I thought if that was true he would be gone shortly. Seems like maybe it was

Greenranger
Yeah but does he really want to go from sunny Florida to frigged Buffalo? If he gets full control of the team with no interference. The guy is an egomaniac, he doesn't care where he is long as he's at the center of attention.

JiF
Well it's been 3 years. That's about right for him. Plus he must be annoyed with these high draft picks that they have been releasing lately, lol. Exactly...I think even the dumb head fish fans knew this day was just around the corner. Good point on the picks, he doesnt want to be associated. Or maybe its he's sick of being part of a Mickey Mouse organization owned by a bunch of C class celebs. I'll never understand why Jets fans bag on Parcells so much. He was solely responsible for bringing this team to a state of credibility for the first time in 40 years. You know whats interesting about this...is that I look at Bill as exactly what you said. And then I look further at what his first move was once he got here...stealing Martin from the Pats. Then I say, its funny, Martin is the player I associate with the turn around and Parcells is the coach. Yet, still so many Jets fans hate on Curtis. Anyway...kind of off topic, but though I'd throw that out there...
