God damn

Right now all I can do is hope. I knew what I was risking by even playing my senior season, but I think I might have just ended my football career. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, I tore my ACL 11 months ago. Was out my entire junior season, and now I might have re-torn it. ANd I don't have medical insurance.

I went to make a sack and I tripped over the HBs cut block, so I grabbed the QBs jersey but couldn't hang on as I was falling, so I got back up, and ran the QB back down. The second I bring the QB down, some other lineman comes and chops my knee. Was pretty bad but not that bad until this morning. I love the game of football and I hope my career is not over, and that I didn't re-tear it, considering I have no medical insurance.

I partially tore my ACL and PCL my sophomore year in HS playing lacrosse. I continued to play football into my Jr and Sr year and into college where I then partially tore my MCL as a freshman on the first play of the first game...then I missed half my Jr year with a broken hand. Tendenitis didn't settle in to my knee until Sr year. LOL. Some of us are just accident prone.

(Bruce Springsteen Glory Days playing in the background oh yeah)

So anyway, look, insurance or not, a professional needs to look at your knee. I can't see how your coach or school wouldn't help you out. But you're young. Things still heal quickly. You just need to get it checked out. Good luck.

Either way, even if it's covered, I need to hope that it is not re-torn, considering I missed all my junior year, and missing my entire senior year would guarantee I never play college football. Hopefully, it's just a very sore sprain and it heals quickly, because I think when healthy, I have a realistic shot at going D2 or D3.

Sorry for your pain --- just focus and get better -- and remember thing could be alot worse than never playing college football.

Go to the emergency room.

I'm pretty sure the laws here (in NY) require schools to carry insurance for team sports. Ask your coach about it. If the school's not willing to help you, contact a lawyer and find out what your rights are in this situation.

if you are injured playing a school sport it's not covered ?

really ?

that's a shame

It's always covered. You have to do the paperwork and they make it a hassle, but it's always covered.

That really sucks Falcon. I would suggest not playing on your torn ACL just to get revenge on a guy...It probably won't end well for you. It sucks to lose the ability to play the sport you like to play, but life does move on. Find a new hobby...there's a ridiculous amount of things to do besides sports...and I'm not even including drugs and alcohol until now.

If you don't feel as if life will move on then pay for alot of physical therapy and get your hands on some HGH.

Just got it checked out, and I didn't tear it, I just got a bad sprain! Not good news, but my season isn't over! Doctor said that I was very close to tearing it and that I probably thought I tore it because the bruised bone I got was the bone I used to replace my ACL in October.

Glad to hear -- good luck the rest of the way

I'm shocked that every player in HS sports would not have to provide some sort of proof of insurance.
