T0mShane
That Brad Smith option crap is an absolute drive killer every time. Even when it goes for positive yardage, it seems to completely throw the offense out of sync.

Integrity28
Wow. I just had my first God Damn Jets tirade of the season. I thought for sure I could make it to week 4 or 5, nope. Schotty doesn't understand basic ******* football. 2nd year QB, home opener in a new stadium... SB expectations... and the playcalling is doing NOTHING to help Sanchez, or any other offensive player, establish a rhythm. Unreal. It was just a matter of time before our defense got winded or sloppy and gave up a score. They aren't perfect. This is infuriating. Win or lose... I can't stand this gimmicky, sophomoric offense and all its unnecessary pre-snap motion. ****!

SenorGato
The playcalling was atrocious. This is a standard of the Schottenheimer era. He just doesn't know how to make QB's work...except for that Brees guy...and that Rivers guy...oh and that crappy guy with the bad shoulder for an unexpected playoff run in his rookie coordinating season...and that stretch at the end of last season...He doesn't get it like we do. Bruce Banner
All Brian Schottenhiemer has is his last name. Take that away and he couldn't get a job coaching high school football. I almost never see any sign of having scouted out the opposing defense. Its almost the exact same game plan every week. This is why on the very rare occasions when the Jet offense looks different I figure some other coach must have been in charge that week.
gangreenman
Reason #1 Brian Schottnheimer needs to be fired: A 6th grade kid would be able to figure out a game strategy designed to test the banged up, already average secondary of the Ravens. Not one that runs the ball into the teeth of their healthy front 7 that has been the best rush defense in the league the past decade or so. Reason #2 Brian Schottenheimer should be fired: He hasn't done sh*t but fail year after year. Not ONCE under his tenure have the Jets finished a season in the top half of the league in offense. He has had now 4 QBs to work with, one of them a HOFer, one of the most talented OL's in the game, some great running backs.... Nothing to show for it. Reason #3 Brian Schottenheimer should be fired: Mark Sanchez had an entire offseason of hard work and studying to learn and develop. He has gone from an inconsistent QB with upside and guts, to a poor mans Chad Pennington. This is clearly the work of the incompetent coaching he's been receiving over the offseason. Its time for this guy to go...And I will NOT watch another game in which he has any strategical say whatsoever. What a joke.

serphnx
I thought the best part was the typical Schotty move of taking out and going away from something that was working. With LT breaking off runs and Greene sucking, Schotty decided to take LT out and put Greene in for a swing pass, which Greene of course dropped. Greene isn't even the pass catching RB, that's LT, so how does this move make any sense whatsoever? So Greene screws it up, now it's 3rd and 5, and now another bungle and it's another punt. Sanchez is not allowed to throw until 3rd and long, and of course then he has no rhythm. NO QB can succeed in this offense. It's not just run-pass ratios, it's when they are called. 3rd and 2 run up the gut has failed for what, 5 years now? It's too far to power in, it never works! Greene might have been the logical choice for that though, as LT was never a short yardage runner---in San Diego the only time he'd do any short yardage running was at the goal line, and it was almost never right up the gut, they usually went with the stretch play. But usually they just took him out and used Lorenzo Neal or Turner.
SenorGato
It's rex too and his dumb mindset that he just needs the QB to net 0 to win games.. Don't you f*ckin dare. Greenranger
Rex and Woody are the only one's who think he's doing a good job. Even Sanchez looked like he wanted to kill him. Why did we even draft Sanchez if Schotty is just going to call for short dink and dunk passes most of the time, I mean we could have just kept Chad for that. Callahan should know that Offense well enough to lead it for the rest of the season anyway.

JerryK
I'm getting the feeling Sanchez isn't very bright. Last year he forced it to the #1 rcvr and turned it over. Now he won't look beyond the checkdown. Can this guy make a decision on the fly? On the HBO show I looked past his juvenile "prankster" stuff. I'm all for having a little fun, but did 'drawing moustaches on pictures' come off to you as lame? The kid seems like he walked out of a Mentos Commercial. Goofy, friendly, but not altogether very bright. I guess I'm just not ready to blame Shotty until I see evidence Mark can think quickly.

AVM
I joked we should fire him mid game, let Sanchez call the plays, and Brunell play QB. Sad thing is...a part of me would have been really happy had that been the case.
serphnx
I guess I'm just not ready to blame Shotty until I see evidence Mark can think quickly. Sure but, hasn't Schitty screwed up with Rivers, Brees and Favre as well? Look at all 3 of those guys with and without Schitty. I mean if you don't want to blame him at all for the first 2, since he was just a QB coach, I can understand a little, but he is kind of the constant. #90
How come the ESPN TV announcers constantly noticed that Sanchez was not even looking downfield and going right to the quick check down? (It was an abvious flaw) But, not one person on our offensive coaching staff noticed and corrected Sanchez? Bueller, Frye, Schotty? Anyone? SenorGato
Why did we even draft Sanchez if Schotty is just going to call for short dink and dunk passes most of the time, +1,000,000 It's something I will never understand. His daddy has to have some dirt on Rex. That's the ONLY reason this guy is even allowed in the state as this team. Poor Sanchez...poor poor Sanchez...he just tries so hard but Schotty just holds him down. I knew it the minute I saw Schottenheimer whine because Sanchez drew some mustaches on his kids pictures. I do know one thing...I'll be sending my application in first thing in the morning. How come the ESPN TV announcers constantly noticed that Sanchez was not even looking downfield and going right to the quick check down? (It was an abvious flaw) But, not one person on our offensive coaching staff noticed and corrected Sanchez? Bueller, Frye, Schotty? Anyone? Even bigger +1,000,000. We pay these guys alot of money...How can they miss something like that? And if they saw it, why didn't anyone reprogram Sanchez during halftime to look down field?
