Pyper
http://www.buffalorange.com/showthread.php?181269-The-jets-are-who-we-thought-they-were...&p=2779660&posted=1#post2779660 ... over hyped. Their defense is solid. Not incredibly super amazing. Very Solid. What the Ravens showed tonight is that if you have a good offensive line, the Jets blitz (which is the basis for their entire defense) will be nullified and their corners (Revis excluded) will be left extremely vulnerable. The Jets DB's were burned many times tonight. Over and over again. This caused the Jets DB's to have 2 pass interference calls and 6 defensive holdings. They simply couldn't keep up with the Baltimore WR's. And this was with Flacco being very erratic tonight. His accuracy was clearly off, even when he had plenty time to throw. Had he been on his game, you're looking at a 17-6 game (Cromartie interception, 10 point turnaround). Their Offense is absolutely horrid. I'm not sure whether the Bills or Jets offense is worse. They went 1/11 on 3rd down and had 6 first downs in the entire game. Sanchez completed less than 50% of his passes (ding ding, remember last season?) and had 74 total yards. They clearly missed Thomas Jones which many predicted would happen. Shonn Greene, who many Jets fans anointed as the next great player at RB, managed a nice 3 yard per carry average including 2 fumbles and a dropped pass. It's also worth noting that the Jets longest offensive play came with Brad Smith at QB - not Sanchez. And this Jets performance came at home, at the unveiling of their brand new stadium, on Monday Night Football, one game after their AFC Championship run. Now let's take a look at the Jets 2010 remaining schedule: NE - Tom Brady @MIA @BUF MIN - Brett Favre @DEN GB - Aaron Rodgers @DET @CLE HOU - Matt Schaub CIN - Carson Palmer @NE - Tom Brady MIA @PIT - Ben Roethlisberger @CHI BUF You're looking at AT LEAST 7 games with QUALITY QB's who can throw down field against the Jets blitz. You could even throw in Jay Cutler and Kyle Orton as possibilities when they're on the top of their game. And with practically any team, they're going to lose a game they were favored in. Not to mention they are playing 5 games on the road in a 7 game period... and those 2 home games are against GB and Minnesota. Good luck. I'm calling 7-9 Jets. Sanchez regresses. 7-9....That was my preseason prediction. What's surprising is why Rex and Tanny are so devoted to Sanchez. Nothing about this guy leads me to think he warrants the star treatment. This team would be better with Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, or a handful of other veteran QB's. The funny thing, at least to me, is that I am completely convinced that our backup QB who was an undrafted free agent last year is significantly better than Sanchez. Seriously! I can't help but feel that good ol'Rex built his house with a deck of cards and everything is crumbling before our very eyes. If the Jets play like this next week, they might lose by 50 points. And that's if we don't run up the score. Otherwise, it might actually get ugly. My condolences for your losses. There will be many.
dbatesman
I had the Pats destroying Cincy and going 0-15 the rest of the way, so clearly that's a done deal too.
madmikeisback
Ahh i see the trolls are still around. At least the Jets put up a fight against the Ravens. Why don't you remind everyone what happened the last time the fraudulent franchise up in NE played the Ravens? I think Ray Rice is still gashing your pathetic defense. (you know the same guy the Jets held under 50 yards tonight.)

They gave up 10 points. That is more than solid.
JerryK
I think we'll find the Ravens Defense this year is stronger than the Patriots' defense. And they still only beat us by 1 with a 100+ yard gift of penalties. Oh, and Pyper, that game happened on storm-soaked turf, so Bellichick's pre-game firehose/sprinkler trick won't help either.
