All The "Experts" Are Bailing Out...

As soon as they start calling us "garbage" "overrated" "underdogs" "pretenders" we will start kicking a$$. We are NOT front runners. We are the thing that go's bump in the night when your not expecting it.

I can agree to an extent. Except for the 68/69 season where many of these same media types classified us as "garbage" "overrated" "underdogs" "pretenders" leading up to the SB, they've been spot on.

I know this means nothing, but only one ESPN "expert" has picked the JETS this weekend, Schefter. Personally, I prefer when the JETS are the underdog. It didn't take too long for these idiots to shift gears.

FYI, NYJ, none of the ESPN "experts" picked the Jets to beat the Ravens. So they've been consistent.

Of course they're bailing out. Typical overreaction to having unrealistic expectations confounded. Why do you think I'm the most optimistic Jets fan in the world right now?

Because you think Mark Sanchez is dying of AIDS?

This.

The experts don't know sh*t...they're as reactionary as the people who listen to them in hopes for some greater knowledge.

I wish someone would call me an expert though...One of these days...I'm really good at porn watching.

How can any expert predict our future?

It depends on what's really happening behind closed doors with the playcalling.

If Rex is putting his foot down with Shott, maybe it will get better. If the front office is still all about jokes, pranks, and skittles, we're hosed.

I don't think we (or the media) can know until we see the next two games.

With the exception of the QB position the Jets have a pretty good collection of talent. This is why some experts were pretty bullish on the Jets in the pre-season, particularly before the pre-season games. The question was could this collection of talent work together as a cohesive team. Based on the pre-season games and the one regular season game, the answer is a very resounding no. The players have not gelled into a team. And the players are not disciplined. Could that change? Yes. But at this point it is pretty foolish for anyone to be predicting much from the Jets until the prove on the field they are in fact a team capable of doing something other than leading the league in penalties.

Bailing out is what make them "experts". From sports to politics...it never changes.

The Jets is going to kick the Patriots a$$ this weekend and I'll be there live to see it. Hopefully I can spit on Brady from level 300 lol.

Really? A very resounding no?

The special teams and defense played well enough to win any game in the league last week. Two many penalties, particularly on the DB's, but they still played well enough to win. That won't be the case most weeks. sh*t, that won't be the case if the Jets manage to get their sh*t together and face the Ravens again in the playoffs (cue Jim Mora here).

The offense sucked. Didn't see that as a result of the players not playing as a team at all, though. Talibanian coaching and complete lack of confidence from the QB would be the primary culprits.

All in all, I'd rather get hot late than early. Penalties can be fixed. Coaching can be altered. The Jets' best offensive player returns in week #5.

No they didn't.

Special teams converted a Ravens FG into a TD.

The Jets defense may have a stat line of only giving up 282 yards the reality is they gave up another 100+ yards in penalties. And in some of those case had the Jet defender not committed the penalty the result of the play would have been a catch for even more yards. Cromartie committed those penalties either because he didn't have adequate safety help OR he didn't know that he did.

Despite all the penalties and a totally inept offense, they still only allowed 10 points to a pretty good Ravens offense. That effort should be good enough to win against ANY team in the league.

Geez guys, it's one ef'ing game against a team that many predict will be the best in the conference and we lost by 1 point.

Yes, I know the offense did not play well.

Yes, I know we committed too many penalties.

Yes, I know Cromartie and Wilson did not play well.

But Good God, can we see where we're at after Week 5 before we write off the team, the coach the QB, etc... for the entire season?

I really don't recall "experts" picking us to do anything other than make the playoffs, something we did last year, and most "experts" picked the Ravens to go to the superbowl. Just wait when the Jets beat the Pats, and the Bengals beat the Ravens this week then all the "experts" will flip flop again, its always that way, most "experts" go with the wind. They know jack sh*t about who is going to be good just like joe blow until around week 8.

If the Jets lose this week they will be 2-2 after 4 games with reinforcements on the way, and if they win this week they will be 3-1 after 4 and about to get better. I think we will be ok.
