Jetsfan80
The test of a good football team is whether they can sustain injuries and still produce. After all, injuries are really just opportunities for players lower on the depth chart. Or at least they SHOULD be. So how did the Jets do? 1) Kris Jenkins goes down for the season. In comes Pouha. CHECK. 2) Revis hurts his hamstring. Enter Antonio Cromartie as the # 1, and Drew Coleman (!!!) as the nickle. CHECK. 3) Nick Mangold goes down for a series. Robert Turner replaces at center. CHECK. 4) Eric Smith has done well for a banged up Brodney Pool, who made an INSANE interception himself today. CHECK. 5) Jason Taylor hurts his elbow. He plays through it and gets a strip-sack. CHECK. Damn good job by players on BOTH sides of the ball stepping up where needed today!
stoicsentry
Hell yeah. Very impressive. Would still like Revis back on the field ASAP but you have to be impressed with the way the secondary played in his absence against a stacked team. As far as #5, let's not forget that he was also playing as much as we he was to begin with because of another injury to Calvin Pace. Also found it interesting how, while both got plenty of time playing in the game, that Coleman was out on the field before Lowery after the Revis injury. Man, Taylor did so well today I almost forgot about Pace! Maybe Coleman's pick in the preseason moved him up on the depth chart.

Heard some of the WFAN people saying that Coleman might match up better against Welker than some other more talented CBs like Cromartie. Which is not to say match up WELL, but... Which is not to say match up WELL, but... That's not a bad theory. Welker is exactly the kind of WR Cromartie matches up terribly with, and Moss the exact kind he matches up well with. Believe it or not, Revis going out may've almost been a blessing in that regard.
