Cotchery's event ended at 9:30 pm and Edwards was popped almost 7 hrs later. They were hanging out at some club.

And, there is no reason to suspend DBrick. He was drunk and not driving. That's legal and not against NFL code of conduct.

Mehta says Gholston too. Frankly this raises more questions about D'Brick than it does about Braylon.

You make a point on D'Brick...he definitely should know better and he's expected to be a leader by now.

That said, a bunch of 20 somethings getting drunk together during good times shouldn't create such much pretend drama, should it? I guess it's gonna happen whether it should or it shouldn't...If this doesn't blow over on Sunday then we probably lost.

Did he get pretend arrested?

Iunno man lol...I don't really care either. It's only somewhat surprising hearing D'Brick's name involved in anything that would cause such a ruckus on a Tuesday besides a Monday night loss.

It is what it is...the incident is only 20 page worthy because Edwards isn't all that popular and it's a Tuesday.

And it didn't. Until deputy dipsh*t got promoted to sheriff anyway. The whole preserving the image of the league thing is such a crock. These things get so much more burn now than they did before the morality crusade.

So this is still pretend?

Braylon Edwards was driving with two teammates when he was pulled over for having tinted windows and subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The New York Jets wide receiver appeared in court Tuesday in ripped jeans, wearing a black T-shirt with the words "One Love" on the front and angel's on the back to answer the DUI charges.

Police documents, parts of which were read aloud during the hearing at the Manhattan Criminal Courts Building, revealed that he was surprised to have been pulled over.

"Why was I stopped for tints when my driving didn't lead you to believe I was drunk driving?" Edwards said, according to the report of the arresting officer.

Officers on the lookout for vehicle violations like excessive tinting or missing registration stickers pulled over Edwards' Land Rover on Manhattan's West Side at about 4:47 a.m. ET and noticed a strong smell of alcohol, chief NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.

"I had a couple of drinks," Edwards said to the officer, according to the police report.

There were four other people in the car with Edwards at the time, and the Jets confirmed that two of them were his teammates -- left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson and defensive end Vernon Gholston.

According to the arrest report, the officer asked Edwards if he was familiar with a breathalyzer. He responded that he was but asked why he would not undergo a field sobriety test like in Michigan, where he went to college. The officer said that was not procedure in New York.

Edwards said to the officer: "We were coming from a party. How about if I just get a cab and go home?"

But the wide receiver did undergo the breathalyzer exam and blew .15 twice and was arrested.

Edwards has had his license suspended and will have to appear in court Nov. 9 to answer the charges. After the court appearance, he left in a black Cadillac Escalade SUV to go to the Jets training facility and speak with team officials.

Edwards did something wrong, and could've hurt someone. And his his history gives you some pause. It's reallys tupid not get a cab.

But clam the eff down. You would be shocked how many people have driven drunk and either been arretsed or were never caught. Not defending it, but the sanctimony from some posters here and in the media is a little much.

Yet .15% even if twice the legal limit is probably still eligible to plead guilty to impaired rather than intoxicated driving in NY as long as he has no prior DWIs and there was no accident nor injury. That means no criminal record, though he will lose his license for 90 days, pay a big fine and be forced to go to a drunk driving seminar, and will see his auto insurance go through the roof. Also the legal limit ws lowered from .10% to .08%, and it was dropped because the federal government under pressure from MADD tied highway funding first to a drinking age of 21 and then a .08% BAC from DWI rather than .10%. And it doesn't take much to get to .10% much less .15% over a few hours. The founder of MADD has even gone so far as to disavow these tactics. Most people recognize most drivers can have 3 or 4 drinks with dinner and not be impaired, and that this framework makes them criminals. Suspect after a game at the Meadowlands more thana few people are either right at or near that point.

And it wasn't that long ago that most cops would have allowed Edwards to park his car with the keys tossed in the trunk and get a cab. And that was often true of anyone as long as you acted like a gentleman.
