Greenranger
According to NFL.com's Michael Lombardi, Chad Henne's job could be on the line this weekend. He is backed up by former Dolphins starter Chad Pennington. http://www.rototimes.com/nfl/player.php?tqid=6576&type=news&nid=79601 Has he really been that bad to be considered for benching this early on in the season? Damaged89
Chad Pennington is Satan. This is the only explanation.

Irish Jet
If this truly is the case (and I doubt it) then there's no way he survives the schedule that sees the likes of Baltimore, Green Bay and Pittsburgh, us of corse too. They'll be a tough team with either QB though.

Mattyandthejets
you know whats funny, dolfans trumpet their two wins over us last season, and they are so confident this week, but dont they remember how bad their offense was last time we met? Henne: 12/21 112 yds 1 TD --- Sanchez: 20/35 265 yards 2 TD 1 TD rushing Ronnie Brown: 11 attempts 27 yards --- Thomas Jones: 27 Attempts 102 yards Ricky Williams: 8 attempts 27 yards --- Shonn Greene: 8 Attempts 18 yards and an untimely fumble. I still cannot believe we lost that game after dominating them, it was those friggin white titans uniforms.

I was so happy when they traded him to San Fran.
jason423
There have been stories about the dislike of Henne since camp began. Once it became clear that Pennington was healthier than expected the talk started about bringing him back. Id think the 2-0 start keeps him safe for at least one more week. Id think the danger for him is if they fall to 500 at any point in the year.
jason423
Don't say we didn't warn you years ago Dolphin fans. He's never gone. Never. Chad is like the worst guy to have on a team. Hes ok enough to always make a good team think they should bench the young guy or not invest in young talent, but hes never good enough to win anything of merit. Chad is the perfect fit for something like the 2000 Ravens or 2002 Bucs. The problem is those teams come around two or three times in a decade and I doubt that these Dolphins are of that quality. Miami should have let him go walk to Cleveland this past offseason.
dbatesman
This certainly lends a lot more credence to the Florio story about Frontbutt trying to protect Sparano and Ireland, because a$$-saving is the only prerogative for benching a 25-year-old with a winning record and a career YPA of 6+ for Herbie the Dentist. dbatesman
Classy touch with the profanity filter, btw. Now anyone with an ounce of vulgar whimsy comes off like a 12-year-old trying to earn a jelly bracelet.

He's the football version of Bob Wiley. The hilarious part is that there was a handful of posters 2 years ago (myself included) trying to tell Miami fans that this is exactly what would happen, but no, what the hell would we know. Bruce Banner
Incurable chad lover here, Penny is better than Henne and better than Sanchez. Maybe future Sanchez will be better than Pennington, but right now Penny is vastly better. It amazes me that the same fan base which crucified Chad now overlooks every Sanchez shortcoming. Not one word about Sanchez going into a slide one yard short of a first down in the Ravens game, but Keller gets criticized for being fooled by a moved down marker one play after a murderous hit by Lewis. We would dominate Pennington. word My only hope was that he'd be back on the field to play us.. and baltimore, greenbay and pitts... all who would eat him for lunch.. Most likely, cause Chad is indeed satan, he'll come in towards the end of the year when Miami's schedule gets soft and lead them to 5-2 down the stretch, setting up the QB competition next year.. T0mShane
Pennington is not a viable NFL starter for a team that wants to win on a high level. They have to stick with Henne come Hell or high water.
