Id much rather get your home address. I have a sack of pennies in the amount of $500. I have a friend who flies a small plane and I would prefer to drop them. Upon payment you could then send me the picture. You could then say pennies from heaven is a true statement.

Yeah too bad I just sold it though, you snooze you lose!

Given Shonne Greene's injury issues last season the question should be: If one of the RBs goes down who could come in immediately and play as at RB right now ?

No, Both of them could do that, so could a number of guys the Jets could pick up off a number of practice squads.

Obviously they feel they kept the guy with better upside.

Sorry i do not see McKnight being able to play right now.

And so does the team.

Otherwise as a 4th round pick made by the JETS he would be on the active 45 man roster already!

What are the chances McKnight turns out to be the better RB?

95%

Wah, wah, wah.

When did Chauncey Washington become a big deal? The only reason we were supposed to care about him was as a just in case LT is finished, well LT isn't so screw this loser. McKnight had more yards on one punt return than anything Washington has ever done and Washington put the ball on the ground in preaseaon too. 3.7 ypc against stiffs and you guys are crying? You all say you can get scrap heap RBs all the time, so why care about this?

Shonne Greene had injury issues last season. What happens if history was repeating itself this year?

Chauncey Washington was not either, in fact he was not even protected.

So what does the team see? Obviously they feel McKnight has the better upside.

If he's not ready to play right now, and the need arises that they need another RB, they will get one the same way the Rams did.

It's potential + imagination.

Fans see someone perform in the preseason and then imagine what he could be in a real game. It's natural fan reaction feeding into the NFL notion of "diamond in the rough". That late round pick, street FA who becomes a star.

OMG!!!!! We'll have to get a guy that is slightly worse than Chauncey Washington!! Whatever will we do? There are a ton of guys out there and if we need that guy to play more than even 1 game we're screwed anyway. The Rams were talking to LJ first. Maybe he wanted too much money or maybe they wanted a young guy seeing how they suck and aren't going anywhere this year. We can sign him. Yay us!

So as long as we don't need him for more than 1 game, the season's saved! :corn:

I don't get the outrage. Washington was alright, nothing more. Every year the Jets manage to dig up RBs who look decent in the preseason. It's not that hard and the Jets seem to be particularly good at it. Probably explains why almost every year some team pilfers a RB off the Jets PS. I thought Washington was fine, but clearly was not nearly as impressed as any of you.

Plus let's not forget this is the same player who at the end of the preseason, despite being brought in back during last season, was described by RB coach Anthony Lynn as not having a grasp of the playbook. Don't think for a second that didn't play a part in him not making this roster over some of the other bubble guys.

That was the big mistake!

Right now everyone feels McKnight has the upside. But everyone knows he cannot contribute to the team now. Not in a positive way!

Do what the Rams did and sign some player off of somebody's practice squad. No big deal. They are already carrying 3 RBs, 2 FBs and Brad Smith.

The Rams had a choice to sign any RB on any PS to their active squad. They chose Chauncey!

That tells you something of what was the best available talent out there!

How do you know it was "the big mistake?"

What if they kept him cut McKnight or someone else, who ends up being 10x better.

Do you really think Chauncey Washington is 10x better than the next practice squad RB?

Actually the Rams wanted LJ first, and he's still out there!

How do you know that ???

How do you know Rams thought LJ was better talent that CW ???

Whatever you are saying is all conjecture!

The reality is CW was on our team. He knows our system which relies a lot on zone blocking. He was successful in it. And he looked like the guy who could step in when required.

At any other position injury is not that big a concern.

But given its the RB position which is prone to more injuries it would have been wiser to have enough depth on the roster that could help us now if required.

Nobody said cut McKnight. Where did you read that ?

But Pat Turner ? Mulligan ? Ahead of Chauncey.

The coaches said he did not have a good grasp of the playbook, and he got sent to the practice squad.

Coincidence?

Where did you hear that ? Link.

Last episode of Hard Knocks Rex told him he had a heck of a camp and did great. And that he would find himself on the roster from the PS.

And if a guy who has been 1+ year in our system cannot grasp our playbook how do expect another RB to be good enough to grasp the playbook in one week ?

Allot of people said cut McKnight, and I did say "or someone else" for those who did not.

We have 3 free agent WR's right now, I'm glad they are grooming someone.

Mulligan plays right now, and is Keller's replacement God for bid a tight end could get hurt.

There are all kinds of temp running backs out there, Chauncey was here two years and the coaches did not think enough of him to keep him.

That's quite telling!

The RB coach said it, and Rex told everybody who did not make the roster that they'd be back, ask Coles!

If a guy can't get it after 2 years, it's time to move on and see if you can find a RB who can get it quicker!

Successful? The stiff averaged 3.7 ypc against 4th stringers. He also fumbled. He sucked. You got excited about one game against the Eagles when they were playing no starters. Zero. Maybe he'll be a decent back, but McKnight played on the same team in college and averaged more ypc the same season and put up more ypc and more yards in his senior year than Washington did. Washington has 9 yards on 4 NFL carries. He's not indispensible. Get over it. Derrick Ward. Danny Ware. You can't get upset because your team had quality on the practice squad.

Never said cut McKnight! Like his upside. Whether it materializes or not that's another question.

But we need to give him time to develop to see how far he can go.

The fact that Rex called him up when he was being sent to the PS tells you what the HC felt of his performance and abilities.

The same coaches also sent Clowney away only to sign him back up.

Mulligan plays only special teams. And on special teams unless you are the star KR or PR its not that you are not irreplaceable. If that was the case Wallace Wright would still be there.

And who gave you the idea that he is Keller's direct replacement. What about the other 2 TE's?

You'd think we just lost Earl Cambell.

How is that relevant?

No one is talking about a cut McKnight sigh Washington situation.

Rex says allot of sh*t, how's what he told Coles working out?

Clowny's probably the next guy to go!

When it comes to special teams Westy's in charge, who do you think he wanted to keep?

It's going to take more than 1 TE to replace Keller, I guess they liked all 3 over Chauncey considering what they brought, and how easily they could be replaced.
