SoFlaJets
thanks for the jinx......... I don't buy that kind of stuff Stan. Hey I'd take 4 Super Bowl appearances this decade-of course I'd like to see a couple of trophies but this Jets team is THE most talented Jets team I've ever seen-I am super excited
nodimwithere
The Jets are 3-0 in the division (AFC East), with two of those three wins coming on the road (Miami, Buffalo). This, plus the offense (and the Sanchize) seemingly coming into its own; this could turn out to be a very exciting season for the Green and White. And Joe Willie gave up on the team so early! Greenranger
With the defense, I would say more like the Steelers of the 70's. I want to win 4 Super Bowls, not lose 4.

We don't want to be like some slapdick franchise like the Bills that got beat every chance they got to go to the big game and who we just toasted to the tune of 38 points! F*** that. We want to lead the league in f***ing wins and win the whole damn thing, then go out and do it again and again until everyone understands what it means to play like a f***ing New York Jet. Now let's go eat a goddamn snack!

Come on Jimmy, exactly how does Sanchez remind you of Kelly? Kelly was a pure gunslinger and would throw for 161 yards by the end of the 1st quarter. Sanchez couldn't be more of an opposite QB. Bruce Banner
The Bills were loaded on both sides of the ball but other than that I don't see a resemblance. Thurman Thomas and Kelly were better than the current Jet RBs and Sanchez. And as a whole the Jet WRs and TEs are better than what the Bills had. And Marv Levy is the anti Rex. NYJ37/12
Not feeling the Bills of the 90's vibe SoFla. This team is more punishing, that team was finesse. Sanchez much different qb than Kelly. Not sure who they remind me of yet, still too early to decide. Around Thanksgiving is when the season and feel really starts to take form for me. Around Thanksgiving is when the season and feel really starts to take form for me. maybe that's the thing about great teams-they are only just like themselves and force the league to catch up with them...I think this team CAN be great and I also think (and hope) the game is changing again. That whole QB-driven pass, pass, pass league that Peyton was turning it into seems like the NFL is catching up to...I like all around football not just one-dimensional crap. Look at what happened to Chicago last night, Green Bay last week...
NYJ37/12
I never really bought into the pass first theory either. At the end of the day you need to play great defense (which would have beat the Colts last year), and be able to run the ball when you need to. When Greene left the game in last years champinship game, the game changed. If we had been able to run at will like we were and gone back up by 13, that game was ours. We could have over come Strickland leaving. Anyway, this team IS their own. I agree with that. It takes more than one month to figure out just who they are. We shall see. SMC
I don't see the comparison either. The 1990 Bills team with the K-gun was the predecessor to the Colts offense, but with a top RB. If anything, this Jets' offense is closer to the 2006 14-2 Chargers team that Cam Cameron screwed against the Pats by not featuring LT in the 2nd half of the divisional playoff game when the Pats had no answer for him. DMaynard
This Jets team reminds me of the mid-sixties Green Bay Packers. Great defense, running attack and the 2010 Sanchez is starting to remind me of Bart Starr. And has there ever been two more dominating personalities as Head Coaches than Rex and Vince Lombardi? Except Rex has a sense of humor that ole Vince would never understand.

If I were to allow myself to make comparisons to champions of the past, I'd probably go with teams like the Cowboys or Steelers of the 70's. Solid defenses, two-headed rushing attacks, and efficient QB's throwing to multiple targets. Not sure who Mark reminds me of as a QB. I've been waiting for our own Joe Montana ever since I heard that's who Chad Pennington was gonna be, and I see some of that in Sanchez. Cool under fire, good on the move. Wow, that would be nice. Getting the Jets into FG range in under a minute at the end of the half against the Pats was huge for me. That was just a major step forward for our QB. I like games like yesterday's, but I look forward to seeing Sanchez deliver on future two-minute drills. There is no Rex equivalent out there. I love the big guy.
