AFJF
I realize it doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot at the moment, but it looks like we'll be praying for Belly to have another clunker of a draft. The pats now have 2 1st rounders, 2 2nd rounders, 2 3rd rouners, and 2 4th rounders.

PatsFanTX
2007 with the exception of Merriweather. Other than Merriweather, all the other players were 4th round picks and below. They also used a 2nd and 7th for Welker and a 4th for Moss that year.

Wheatley is always getting nicked up and Whilhite has struggled. That's wahy you see McCourty and Butler as the starting CB's.
Mattyandthejets
they wont use all of them they wont have the money to sign those 8 guys, watch him trade up a few times and trade down as well for more picks in drafts to come.

madmikeisback
Their personal moves are SO overrated. Over the past few years their drafting has been terrible. They drafted like 4 TE's and ended up with one good one. A ton of DB's and none of them has really proved anything Mayo is really the only impact guy they have drafted recently. JasonFabinisBackhair
Since you should wait about three years to judge a draft I'll skip the previous two and start with 2008. 2008: Mayo the only legit starter. Crable and Wheatley look to be decent. O'Connell and below look like busts. 2007: Meriweather only legit starter, and that may be borderline. Rest of the draft busts. 2006: Ghostkowski best of this draft. O'Callaghan decent. Maroney, Jackson, and the rest all busts. 2005: Mankins great player. Hobbs and Cassell decent (but great job turning Cassel into more picks), rest of draft busts. 2004: Wilfork great player. Watson decent. Rest busts. -------- Seems like average drafting at best. But who knows, maybe the last two drafts turn out to be fantastic? Still too early to tell, but it seems doubtful.
PatsFanTX
they'll trade up and down on draft day, and come away with a bunch or corners who can't cover anybody That's still better than wasting the overall 6 pick on the biggest draft bust of the entire last decade behind only Jamarcus Russell. There are currently 10 starters from the last 2 drafts. How is that too early to tell? Do they have to be Pro Bowl players to be considered good draft picks? Kyle Wilson has some starts for the Jets already and could very well be a bust, it's too early to tell. The Pats may have a lot of young guys starting on defense, but how good is the Pats D really? Terrible coaching up to last year. Good thing they have most of those players they drafted still here and in their prime. BTW NE's team is in freefall and hasn't won crap in 3 years so lets cool it on the comparisons. On Oct 6th 2010 the talent levels of the 2 teams aren't even comparable. How's the 42 year draught going? 2) According to the standings on October 6th 2010, both teams are 3-1.

I'm just enjoying the tail end of your fraudulent "dynasty." 2 Go watch the game tape of that week 3 game and tell me there is equal talent. Brady said it best after the game. Obrien2Toon
I know they are accumulating alot of picks, which is nice. But when you have a top 3 qb you need to trying to win now. First Seymour, now this.

PFSIKH
Can you name 3 or 4 players you think the Pats "missed" on? There was that 7th rounder that one year. And for the folks that think they will not use them, they have 11 picks from the first three rounds of the last two drafts on the roster. Another 5 from late round picks. If a rookie wage scale is in place, the Patriots could easily use them all and be well within the salary cap.

And there are probably 3 good players at best out of those 11 and one of those 3 is a kicker. I hope they use all their picks again if they are picking players at that rate. On a side note, with the changes to be made in the new CBA for a new lower wage scale for the draft, Belly will probably be able to sign all 8 top picks with the salary he saved by not paying Moss.. Just sayin'
