AFJF
Douchebag could have said "great job by Cro' to step up when I was down." Instead he says "Randy put on the brakes"...classy move Douche! FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Darrelle Revis is ready to play, and you can bet Randy Moss hopes the New York Jets' All-Pro cornerback is out there defending him Monday night. Revis added another chapter to their personal rivalry Wednesday, saying Moss -- now with the Minnesota Vikings -- eased up in the second half of New England's 28-14 loss to New York three weeks ago. "He came out full force, early in the game," Revis said. "In the second half, you could tell he was kind of like putting his foot on the brake. But everybody knows that's Randy: Sometimes he plays 100 percent, sometimes he doesn't." Revis was limited at practice Wednesday, but he hopes to play after missing the last 2½ games with a strained left hamstring. He was injured while defending Moss on a touchdown catch late in the first half of the Week 2 game. "You can see the effort," Revis said. "Playing football, you can see the body language and the effort of people when they're out there playing, if a guy's going hard or if a guy's hesitant." Moss, traded Wednesday by the Patriots, was held without a catch in the second half while he was defended mostly by Antonio Cromartie. Revis believes Moss' lack of effort was the primary reason for that blanking. "That's just the way football is," Revis said. "You can see the truth comes out. I don't know if it was frustration of him not getting the ball a lot or whatever, but you can see it." Revis referred to Moss as a "slouch" while playing a word-association game on NFL Network in January. Moss playfully fired back during an interview with ESPN before the Patriots played the Jets, saying: "I don't really get into the trash-talking, but if what he called me was a 'slouch,' then I guess the 'slouch' will be there to see you on Sunday." Whether or not the matchup even happens Monday night isn't certain, given Revis' health. He said he felt great -- "no pulls or anything today" -- after practice, then reiterated that he wants to be 100 percent healthy before playing again. "I want to play right now," Revis said. "But I know they wouldn't be letting me play if the game were today." Jets coach Rex Ryan said it's too early to tell if Revis will play and, if so, where he'll line up -- on his usual left side, the right side or even in the slot. "We'll see," Ryan said. "He moved out there pretty well today." Revis heard the rumors of an impending trade between the Patriots and Vikings for Moss while checking Twitter late Tuesday night. "A lot of the fans were coming at me a little bit on Twitter, saying I better get my hamstring ready for Monday night against Randy again," Revis said. "Hopefully, if I get to play Monday, I get to see him sooner than I thought I would." Revis also might have added some bulletin-board material for the Patriots. "I was surprised that New England would do something like that, because he's a big part of their offense," he said. "I don't think they're going to have a vertical game." The Jets play the Patriots in Foxborough, Mass., on Dec. 6 -- also a Monday night game.

Mattyandthejets
Revis is right though, randy did put on the brakes at times and he did look like a slouch, when Cro intercepted that pass, Moss pulled up while cro kept running. Take nothing away from Cro he did a fantastic job, but Moss did give up on a few plays and Cro greased him on that one specifically. Just like when Revis had that nice pick in week 2 last season Moss put the brakes on that as well and Revis picked him off. Watch moss take his eyes off the ball and pull up while Cromartie keeps going for the ball.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqsrC5SbYD0

THE ILK
He's still poking at and stirring up Moss... Darrelle Revis is back to questioning Randy Moss' effort http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/06/darrelle-revis-is-back-to-questioning-randy-moss-effort/?related=1 After losing their season opener, the Jets humbly avoided trash talking the Patriots before the two teams met in Week Two. Cornerback Darrelle Revis backed off his offseason comments calling Randy Moss a slouch and mostly gave Moss props. Three Jets wins and a seismic Moss trade later, Revis is dropping the humble act and getting real. "In the second half, you could tell he was putting his foot on the brakes," Revis said about Moss' performance against the Jets, via ESPNNewYork.com. "I mean, everybody knows that's Randy. Sometimes he plays 100 percent, sometimes he doesn't." Revis' ego may be clouding his judgment. Moss got deep on Revis in the first half, while Antonio Cromartie shut Moss down in the second half. But the Jets cornerback says he saw plenty from the sideline. "You can tell, you can see the effort," Revis said. "Playing football, you can see the body language and effort of people. If a guy's going hard or a guy is hesitant . . . that's the way football is, the truth comes out. You could see it in that game." Jets coach Rex Ryan has expressed confidence Revis would return this Monday night, so he can cover Moss again. Revis seemed less certain, calling his hamstring "day-to-day." After these comments, we really hope Revis can suit up. Hey Revis are you gonna show up? Or is someone else going to have to clean up your mess? Bleedin Green
When did Revis become such a mouthy douche? He's really making it unnecessarily difficult to cheer him on. If, once healthy, his level of play isn't up to what people have come to expect, he's going to catch a whole lot of sh*t and only have himself to blame. Irish Jet
For the first few years of his career Revis came accross as one of the more humble, classy guys in the locker room. Now he's just releasing his inner Rhodes. I'm not going to criticise him for it yet though, and what he's saying isn't wrong by any means but if Moss gets the better of him on MNF, he can go **** himself. He needs to back this up, if he does, then you can't have a problem with it. Smack talkers are fine if they come to play, Revis has a chance to put everything right by shutting him the **** down. I was looking for a post like this before I were to write the EXACT same thing. I am seriously dumbfounded as I have to say, I really didn't see this one coming with Revis. I had NO idea he was such a complete and total douchebag. I kid you not this guy was hands down my favorite player in the league and fast becoming my favorite player ever. It's fun when you can personally root for the greats who are playing on your team, but with that said, ugg, he's a freaking GREAT player, but unfortunately he appears to be a total zero in terms of character. And man I thought he was the complete opposite on a personal level.
s dubb
Man STFU!! why all the hate for Revis. He mentioned this before Cromartie was even in a Jets uniform. Stop the madness. Randy is a f*ckin slacker. We all know this, the football WORLD knows this. He's stating the obvious. He's not slighting Cro. Randy is soft like spagetti noodles. Hey Jets fans. Revis is on our team. war ensemble
You guys are missing the strategy behind this. Clearly, Revis is riling Moss up to put him off his game. By pissing him off, Moss won't actually focus on the game at hand. Seriously though, I think Revis is doing this more to mess around with Moss than to not give Cro credit. The best way to stop Moss is to put him out of the game, and Revis has done that to many a receiver (why else does he randomly take out a receiver on a running play to the other side, lol?) and it's effective. I'll let this play its course.

So far, in 1 and a half games of New Revis, he was a far superior player when he was humble and classy...or least when he was pretending to be. Irish Jet
There was no implied shot at Cromartie there, why the hell would he do that? He's quite obviously doing the smack talk he was doing before, trying as War said, to mess around with Moss. If he doesn't play after saying that though, he will lose so much credibility in my eyes. He has to play and shut him down to avoid looking like a complete dick.

AFJF
Wow. People don't understand how this is a slight? Revis pulls up lame against a HOF WR after getting smoked. His teammate who steps in for him completely shuts the guy down and Revis says "Moss wasn't trying." How do people not see that. Let's suppose you work at a car wash. One day, after cleaning a car covered in sh*t so well that it sparkles and as somebody else admires your work, a co-worker walks past and says "that car was already clean when they brought it in." That's about as simple as I can make it. If you can't understand how that's a slight...I can't help you see it.

Revis could have done the same exact thing without putting his teammate down. slats
I have to ******* laugh. We have the mouthiest head coach in the history of the NFL, and everybody love, love, LOVES him! But we only like players who are meek and humble... Oh, except Bart Scott, everybody loves when he mouths off. Hypocrites. He's busting Randy Moss's balls here. I get the unintentional slight on Cro that people are picking up, but I don't see that as Revis' intent from this article at all. This is a player that Rex loves, who's in turn emulating his head coach. This is what Rex wants from his players. This is the kind of player he brought with him. MasonJet
I think people are overreacting to this. Moss is a lazy ****, this has been known for some years now. Revis is merely stating something that has been stated by many others many times. I think people are just looking for reasons to hate on Revis right now. If he comes back and plays at a high level, which I bet he will, we'll hear a lot less about Mevis.
