The Vikings can expose this DL.

I know we're a perfectly built team...the proof's in our record...but anyone else scared of that massive OL + Peterson against this DL?

This is the current DL depth we have:

Ellis

Pouha

DeVito (<3, been on this guy since Mangini pulled him as a UDFA...but he's a Justin Bannan/Dwan Edwards type...at his best as the 4th man)

Gholston

Pryce

Green

Dixon

Unless Gholston starts showing up and making differences, I have minimal confidence in this unit. Rex usually gets his DL to play up, but there's only so much "up" to be had. I hope Bart Scott is pulling a Ray Lewis and begging Rex everyday to get a big DT in here. The DL really needs it, and I think the Vikings are the team to show us that.

Yes, though I'm more worried about their DL.

We're only perfectly built if Revis doesn't play. The second he comes back we're headed for a big swoon.

That's true...I should at least let them play with Revis before I speak. A lesser DL group did nice things last year...

Interestingly enough...I think our front 7 is the reason why we succeed as a team. So I think they'll be up to the challenge.

This is one of those game where the phrase, "you win and lose games at the line of scrimmage", rings true.

Well if we win this game it will be because the defense goes turnover crazy. Their D is going to give the offense hell (which means come Tuesday...*sigh*), but our D should be entirely capable of doing the same to their offense if Revis is playing.

Are you preparing for the defense of the greatest OC ever?

And this D can cause fits with Revis...but he'll help...unless Moss burns him again.

Stop being such a pansy. The D line is fine. Just because everybody isn't a big name, doesn't mean they can't play. You have to add the LBs into the mix and they are a big group and strong at the point of attack. Devito is fine and he's actually the kind of guy I want out there to try and deal with Peterson. I'm more worried about Ellis and Pace getting pushed around because he's hurt. Pryce and Taylor probably aren't going to be too stout against the run so Pace becomes key.

Yep, and this is a good thread Gato. I'm not really too worried about the whole Favre-Moss thing..AP scares the sh*t out of me. If Favre and Moss are making plays it will be because the Vikes OL and Peterson are torching the Jets front 7. Not saying they will but it's the match up I'm worried most about.

I could not agree more. The moss thing is more novelty at this point. They will try like hell to get it to him, but that could also be a positive and end up getting us some picks. It's AP that makes me nervous. Favre likes to float the ball up there. We can come down with it a lot in this game.

This is also the week when we see just what our offense is made of as well. If we can move the ball on this D, it will be a big step. I think we are growing and solidifying as a team. This is a good test for us.

No they can't. Wrong team and week to post this.

They average like 320 pounds on their OL...and they have the most talented RB in the league behind them...The only other team more prepared to expose us so well is the revamped Steelers OL in Week 15.

Haha!

I know you have a DL fetish to go along with your foot and Schottenheimer fetishes, but the Jets are primarily a 3-4 team that's really built more around it's very solid LB corps than the front three. If the front three guys can just occupy blockers, the LB's can go to work. They'll be okay.

This is a tough matchup for the Jets, though, on both sides of the ball. It really could come down to Sanchez vs. Favre, which I think would be pretty cool.

True...our LBs have to average around 255-260...which easily should be 15-20 pounds above average...that's a nice way to bridge a gap.

And you have my fetishes nailed...except for Schottenheimer...I'm just applying logic in that situation.

I'm afraid if I agree with you... then someone else might... then another person... then potentially everyone... thus forcing you into the precarious position of having to have to change your point of view just to blatantly and annoyingly argue against the oogiddy-boogiddy mob mentality as it mercilessly gangs up on our D Line... the likes of which hasn't been seen round these parts since, well... week 1 when Schotty's offense was as pathetic as you taking yoga classes so that you can feed yourself a dick sandwich.

Good post Slatsy Watsy. Fatsy Watsy is really not too concerned. We have been playing very well and I think we will be fine.

My biggest concern is Sanchez losing focus as he can;t get the pictures of Brett's wang out of his mind. I'm pretty certain the timing of this has been planned and the Vikings are counting on Sanchez being preoccupied.

You kidding me? Favre's got it small. Sanchez put this out of his mind quicker than you do when you make your annual New Years Resolution to go on a diet.

Oh know, not even Ines Sainz and a drunk and cuffed Braylon can help us now!

Quick Rex flip somebody off!

Cro forget 2 more kids!

Leon return back 3!

Revis, well you know what to do, act yourself.

Fine. I will bump this thread Monday night after Sanchez has his worst game of the year. I could see the back of the freakin poist now.. "Sanchez throws pic for Bretts dick." bank on it.

Hey assmuncher. I broke my record this year as the tower of dietary discipline Crusher is. I made it all the way till noon this year. I accept your apology.

Adrian Peterson is a tough dude who likes to take on contact and break tackles. The Jets defense and their 265 lb. LB's aren't the team to do that against. I'd be surprised if we don't see Peterson limping before halftime. I'm not rooting for an injury to any player, but if he thinks he's going to stiff-arm David Harris and Calvin Pace, he's going to get beaten up.

If the Vikings win this game it will be because Percy Harvin spins Cromartie around like a top a couple times.
