JetsFanInDenver
This could get ugly. Link: http://deadspin.com/5659474/sources-two-more-women-who-worked-with-jets-received-lewd-texts-from-favre?skyline=true&s=i Article: This is about to get worse. It appears Jenn Sterger wasn't the only woman who received unwanted and inappropriate text messages from Brett Favre while he played for the Jets. Favre also pursued two team massage therapists, according to one of the women. The woman (who wishes to remain anonymous for now — we'll call her "Mandy") worked as a massage therapist for the team for a couple years, but she says never had an incident with a player until No. 4 showed up at training camp at Hofstra University, where the Jets still worked out in 2008. "He was on the table next to mine," she tells me. "He was looking at my a$$ the whole time while I worked on another player. He was ... ogling me." The woman who was massaging Brett that day (massage therapist No. 2, or "Lindsay") exchanged numbers with him. (Mandy claims it's common for players to take the numbers of team-contracted massage therapists should they need additional rubdowns off campus. Yeah, I know. Please don't.) Lindsay received a text message from Favre, according to Mandy. Lindsay assumed it was for a massage but quickly realized Brett was asking for more. He invited both Lindsay and Mandy back to his hotel room. Mandy claims that the texts became increasingly inappropriate ("just nasty stuff"), but she adds that Brett did apologize when he found out she was married. This apology over text, however, wasn't enough for Mandy's husband. We'll call him "John". "I called him on his phone and told him I wanted an apology. He acted all arrogant. He refused to apologize," John tells me in a phone conversation. Mandy and John say they approached attorneys about the situation but were told that because Mandy was a private contractor, there were no grounds for a harassment case. They didn't pursue anything. But, after reading the story in the New York Post this morning, they decided to come forward with their story. Mandy's husband John reached out both to Deadspin and the Post. They don't want to reveal their names just yet, John says, and they "don't want photographers on their front lawn." But they said they're still considering going public with it. First, they want to talk to the NFL and the Jets. They gave me permission to pass along their info to the team, which I did. If someone from the NFL wants to reach out to them, they'll talk to someone there, too. Also? Mandy says she and Lindsay still have some of the text messages. Hooray. THE ILK
Yeah I posted more info on this in the original way to go brett thread. Brett Favre Embroiled In Alleged Sexting Scandal FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP/CBSNewYork) – The NFL said it would review allegations involving the Vikings’ Brett Favre, who the Web site Deadspin said sent racy messages and photos to a former game hostess while he was the Jets’ quarterback in 2008. The league action comes one day after the site posted a video that included below-the-waist photos, said to be of Favre. The Vikings will travel to New York to play the Jets on Monday night PHOTOS: Jenn Sterger We are reviewing the matter,” league spokesman Greg Aiello said when asked about reports that a person alleged to be Favre sent voicemails and lewd pictures to Jenn Sterger. Asked to respond to the Deadspin report on Thursday, Favre said: “I’m not getting into that. I’ve got my hands full with the Jets and am trying to get some timing down with our guys, so that’s all I’m going to discuss.” Vikings coach Brad Childress had no comment after Friday’s practice. He said he was not aware of either the NFL’s investigation or the website’s allegations. Bus Cook, the agent for the three-time league MVP, didn’t immediately return messages. Later Friday, Deadspin reported that Favre also pursued two female massage therapists who worked part-time for the team, according to one of the women. Deadspin did not identify the women, but a Jets spokesman said the team has contact information for the two women and was giving that information to the league. The Jets spokesman requested anonymity because the NFL investigation is ongoing. The women were two of 17 massage therapists the Jets used during what they called two intensive recovery days in training camp in 2008. According to Deadspin, one woman exchanged phone numbers with Favre, and the other woman told the website that the quarterback sent “nasty” text messages and invited both women to his hotel room. On Thursday, Deadspin reported that a man alleged to be Favre contacted Sterger on MySpace and began leaving her voicemails. The website posted a video of the voicemails and several graphic pictures allegedly sent to Sterger’s cell phone. “Send me a text. Love to see you tonight,” one voicemail said. The 26-year-old Sterger, now a TV personality for Versus, has a website that describes her as an actress, model, writer and television host. Her duties during Jets games included introducing the Jets’ dance team, asking trivia questions and making announcements to the crowd. Sterger’s manager Phil Reese said she is “not doing any interviews or commenting at this time,” but that “Jenn did not provide Deadspin with any information.” In an e-mail to The Associated Press, A.J. Daulerio, Deadspin’s editor in chief, declined to reveal the source of the material. He did say the source of the photos contacted him and that Deadspin paid “more than we ever have” for them. “I was certain about the accuracy of her story, the evidence was presented substantiating that,” he said, “and then as things began to unfold, it appeared more and more likely that this happened. Plus, there will be more.” The Jets referred all questions to their public relations firm, Sunshine, Sachs and Associates. “We are working closely with the league in their review of this matter,” said the firm’s spokesman, Jesse Derris. Deadspin also reported that Jets director of media relations Jared Winley may have been an intermediary between Favre and Sterger. But Derris said Winley “played no role in this alleged incident.” If the NFL finds that Favre violated its personal conduct policy, Favre could be fined or even suspended. The league’s policy allows it to punish a wide range of behavior, even that which is not illegal. Commissioner Roger Goodell used the policy to suspend Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for four games after he was accused of, but not charged with, sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman at a Georgia college bar. Favre, who turns 41 Sunday, and his wife, Deanna, have been married 14 years. He became a grandfather in the spring.
BroadwayJoe12
Ya, let's go to the press a year after he leaves. Also, how did his texts get progressively more nasty without the girls answering back?? By getting nastier, it insinuates that the girls were responding to him...if she was married, it should have been over after the first text. aec4
NO ATTORNEY is going to tell them they can't pursue this if it really happened because they are contractors. I doubt he will take the same heat. Remember this dude was addicted to painkillers and the media managed to spin that as "heroic" rather than him being a drug abuser, which is what he was. This guy could take a sh*t in the middle of the field and Al Michaels would be busy praising him for "having fun" and "being great." Hell when other players throw TD passes Michaels thinks that is "Favre-like" when the game has nothing to do with him at all. But man it'd be great if they tore him down just so I could stop hearing them polish his knob on national television all the time. I thought Cutler throwing INTs was Favre like personally, and that's the only similarity I ever saw.

True enough--this is all just chatter with these two women. No sense getting bent out of shape about it, I agree. However, a woman should not have to look at a man's tool if she does not want to. It is called exposing oneself, whether on text or in person, and it is against the law If this is true, then Favre is a sexual deviate, as prescribed by law. HessStation
This was a quote I found and thought it was well put... I'm pretty sure in little ole Green Bay Wisconsin just about any woman who was approached by Brett would have said, "Yes please Brett. I'll do anything you want. Can we please tape it to show to my husband? I'm sure he will treasure the memory." Problem is he went to N.Y. where perhaps the ladies were a little less impressed with him, so he was caught off guard when they didn't fawn all over him. Have you ever been to Green Bay? There is absolutely nothing going on there. The Packers are EVERYTHING, and the only thing happening in Green Bay. Favre was (and for some still is) like a God there. Of course now they're all conflicted because he was their only claim to fame, but then he left them and broke their hearts

kelticwizard
The more I read about this story, the more I become convinced there are two sides to it. Massage Therapist #1 claimed that one time Favre, from the next rubdown table, looked at her a$$ inappropriately. Kind of a judgment call, isn't it? Message Therapist #2 says that she gave him her number, which is the usual thing among players and massage therapists. She admitted Favre stopped the offending phone calls and apologized when she told him she was married. Is it totally impossible that Favre interpreted her giving him her phone number as meaning she was interested in a liason? That's what it usually means, in most circumstances. As for former Playmate Jen Sterger, I get the impression that she wants to use her looks to get into show business. Her allegations might well be true, but let's not forget that the larger this scandal grows, the more media exposure she gets which is extremely beneficial to her career. The idea of a 40 year old granddad sending pictures of his anatomy via cell phone certainly doesn't make Favre look good, but I am starting to wonder if his intentions were really as evil as they are being portrayed. I am not at all sure Favre is as bad as he's being made to look here.

kelticwizard
Is that really the public's business? In just about every job I've ever had, some guys had something going on the side outside their marriage, and absolutely nobody acted like it was the concern of the people who worked with him or even were friends with him. If anybody said in the lunchroom, "Well, I just found out that Harry is cheating on his wife," and started giving details, everybody would wonder why this guy was so damned interested in Harry's life. Do we really want to live in an America were everybody thinks the intimate details of your marriage are everybody's business? God, I hope not. Do we really want to live in an America were everybody thinks the intimate details of your marriage are everybody's business? God, I hope not. The higher up your position is the less leeway you have for these things, because you are a representation of the company and the company is very image conscious. A lower level employee, while it'd be very poor decision making, can get away with making a racial remark. But a politician or a CEO would have their careers virtually ruined by the same comment. Where were you during Bill Clinton's presidency? Why was it the public's business for Clinton? The answer is what I just told you, at those levels everything matters. Now Favre isn't the president of the US obviously, but he does have a position akin to being a CEO or a company spokesperson.

Jetsfan80
Can we please STOP trying to compare the NFL to other jobs? Unless you're a secret agent, firefighter or a daredevil for a living, you're all just sellouts (and that includes me). The NFL does NOT resemble an average job or even a more extraordinary one like being a CEO or the President of the United States. The only job it compares to is being an actor or musician. We're talking about a game played for entertainment purposes by a bunch of new money 20-somethings who for the most part care more about their bling and the clubs than what any of us think. Thus, does it really matter that millions know about Favre's personal life? I'm pretty sure he doesn't give a damn that we do. Your privacy gets thrown out the window when you're an entertainer, and you either adapt and deal with it or get out of the business.
