Jet Nation on Mike Vick:

Lighting it up again today. 3 TD passes, all of them pretty impressive. He just looks so much more complete as a player.

As an NFL fan, I'm delighted. Guy is ******* awesome to watch!

He looks really good. I called this. I knew he'd become a smarter QB after prison.

This guy is amazing. Imagine if the NYJETS would have took a chance. Our OFFENSE would have been nastier.

Vick is outplaying McNabb, the Eagles made the right decision in trading him.

Due to posting restrictions on # of quotes I'll spit a few out (by no means is this a comprehensive list. It is but a small sample.)

"I still can't believe he did not start game 1 and that they gave Kolb that contract." - BJ

"Vick is outplaying a lot of QB's right now....."-LWC61

Jet Nation on Darrelle Revis:

Poop on you. He pulled his hammy when Moss burnt him like toast.

F Darrelle Mevi$.

He got his pay day, he's done playing the game.

Has Revis ever said or done anything that merits believing him?

whatever Revis inject some of that money in your a$$ like Magic Johnson.

"**** you Mevis. Only saving grace to this entire mind **** is we don;t have to worry about his family starving. For that Im thankful. Other than that **** YOU MEVIS." - TC

"I wouldn't mind never seeing him play again."-JBro

"...the thought that we "need" Mevis to win any single game, should be long gone even for the biggest of his supporters."-J

"Great, overpaid diva is back to playing out of shape and I bet he'll only be on one side of the field like last time. Bum."-S

Darrelle held out for a few weeks just like Ken O brien did and oh, our beloved john riggins left the redskins high and dry for a whole season, emmitt smith did too, Jerry Rice held out (u like him?), Eric Dickerson held out, jets receiving coach Henry Ellard and a many many many more (many of whom I'm sure we would LOVE to have here in the nation.

Here's what the great Michael Vick did:

Oh, and we hate Jason Taylor because he said mean things about us when he was our rival. I could only guess it's because Mike Vick has better fantasy numbers.

If its the job of football fans to punish Vick then he should never have gone to jail. But he did, that was the punishment, its over. He's admitted it was wrong and promised to never do it again.

Revis went to practice and lied about being injured and sat out plays. He never admitted that was wrong, he never said he wouldn't do it again. His word means nothing to me so he's scum. If it turns out that Vick lied about turning over a new leaf then screw him too. But its not my job to punish Vick or Revis for anything. And its not your job to judge who I root for. Who I root for is one of those things like your favorite color, its not something you can have a rational debate on.

Revis wouldve still gotten his $$ if he went to camp...instead he showed up overweight and out of shape.

How many more threads do we need on the subject...its over now, youve made your point

Haha! He was -what?- five pounds over his usual playing weight? He played the entire opener on about three days practice.

But it's true, had WoodMe John$on come up with that guaranteed money sooner, he would've gotten better value for his money. Lesson learned. tongue.gif

I'd love for it to be really be over, and I feel lancemehl's pain, but obviously everyone is still too chaffed over Revis and the Jets having business difficulties.

Im not chaffed over anything, I dont dislike Revis like the majority of people here, Im just trying to make a point. Mangold got paid, he didnt hold out. Brick got his extension, both sucky deal but paid nonetheless. You and Lance seem to take it a little personally, like you have a stake in whether he got paid or not. Revis was and still is rich and we're just regular folk, I could give a f-ck about the problems of greedy millionaires who want more and more money. He has his $$$ so I think we should move on now. Revis doesnt give a sh*t about what we think with his 32 million dollars guaranteed; he's set for life. I think people are entitled to their own opinions without being chastised for it. Im surprised he can play at all with so many people putting his nuts in their mouths.

I don't take it personally. I make a comment maybe once in every 20 or so Mevi$'s, Divas, Dooshies, etc...

I thought we should've moved on long ago. Should be fun to see how many comments get made after this post from people who don't feel that way.

I've concluded that many Jets fans are embittered by Revis' holdout because, as Jets fans, we've rarely ever had an elite player wearing the uniform at the time of his peak value where that player has to go head-to-head with management over money. Cowboys fans went through it with Irvin and Emmit, Niners fans with Rice, Falcons fans with Deion, etc. Giving a Jets fan an elite player is like giving an Ethiopian a Fabergé egg: out of confusion they're eventually going to try and eat it.

Well in all fairness, those Ruskies do make a deliciously appetizing bejeweled egg.

Vick is human garbage, as much as like wathcing him play, I don't feel bad that he got injured. I hope Kolb lights it up and keeps him on the bench.

Revis is a turd, but I don't wish injury on him

I agree only on the grounds that I have Kolb on my fantasy team.

All the teams in the NFC East could simply disappear and it would only make my love for the game grow stronger.

I dont know why you quoted me, I never said I liked him or thought he was good dude, he's piece of garbage thug turd.

But I knew he'd start to play from the pocket more after prison. You learn that in there.

The same people harping on Michael Vick's crime would probably welcome Rae Carruth & Donte Stallworth to their team if they thought it meant a super bowl.

Vick is a piece of garbage, but how funny is it that in a country where we're constantly pissing and moaning that prison is not "rehabilitating" anyone and is an utter failure, we don't give Vick a chance to redeem himself and show himself worthy of a 2nd chance. A chance to show he understands his error, has gotten his act together, and is making the best out of the 2nd chance.

From everything I have read, it appears that Stallworth has done just that. He was remorseful immediately and didn't hide behind his agent. Either his PR rep is really good or he really felt horrible about his stupidity. So, from a bad example standpoint, I wouldn't mix Donte in with the others.

Its convenient to leave out all the negative posts about Vick and the positive posts about Revis. Gotcha. You sound like a political hack who uses little sound bites to make a point instead of where people actually stand.

TS, that's the best answer I've heard on this topic. It's good enough for me. BTW, I'm not trying to beat a dead horse or troll or all of that, but what could I say, it's crazy. I love the reply about not judging people. hahahaha

Well Brooklyn, nice pun, first of all. I suppose after 10 years on these ******* forums(4 years on this one), I'm hooked. Are you mad about me sticking up for our players or dogging Mike Vick? because that's the only thing I've talked about so far. Oh wait, is that it? Well, you could expect more of it the next time a dumb a$$ article like that "Revis slights Cro" pops up. What can I say?

Guns - Vick is in a different class because dogs are helpless and abusing them is like abusing kids, there's no room for that in our society. I live in the inner city and most of these kids are destined for jail because of the hand they've been dealt in life. Vick had a $100M contract and had life by the balls but he thought his sh*t didn't stink and he could mutilate, torture, and kill dogs. That is just sick and Vick got off easy becasue there was a black DA in the county he committed all of these crimes. He should have done state time too, not just federal and while he deserves a 2nd chance he still hasn't paid his debt to the state of VA.

WTF happened to Lance Mehl?

hiphopfail.gif

He ****ed up his knee and had to call it quits.

If you're talking about me, BP, I'm sorry. All the hatred for our own players just kills me. That's all. That's all I'm guilty of here, BP, standing up for Darrelle Revis. So I guess that makes me a scumbag like him. And I'm really not beating the thing. It was only a few days ago that the ridiculous "Revis refuses to give Cro credit" came out.

So, your answer is nothing happened to me, man. I'd love to talk some Jets football like i do every year, but once the mob rules kick in, it's curtains. lol At this point anything I say will attract 20 "**** you" comments.

J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets
