Alot of Drops didnt help nor did the weather. But the fake reverses were just plain stupid. The first one was good since it was a trap play for Allen, but the next three were just plain obvious and Stupid. I turned to my wife and said the Idiot is setting this up for late in the game when they will actully hand the ball to Edwards or Smith and it will get stuffed Miserably. Sure enough in the 4th the Idiot calls the play and loses yards. This is how a ******* High School coach would try to set up a Defense. His play calling in the red zone was pretty bad as well. In big games vs good defenses this guy is still a liability hes predictable and he still disrupts the rhythm of the offense with wildcat plays/ Its not the wildcat plays I cant stand its the timing. Revis has been hurt. Revis almost lost the game for them today. I love the guy and feel good that he will bounce back. But he has his money, I don't think he really cares about any other criticism right now (which he deserves). Also it sounds like Revis might sit out against the Broncos. Sweet, a pulled hammy, nobody say that coming. Besides the Jets won. Why would one Jets fan even care what another Jets fan thought? It is a team, and that team won! It shouldn't be too hard...if we don't win the Super Bowl they'll easily have fan backing...they already do...after that just give it to Callahan or Cavanaugh. We have Callahan it would be a seamless transition. Who do you think designed our zone blocking schemes Ironic how thats the best part of our offense even though we have arguably top 5 skill position talent. The time to fire Schotty was two games into the Favre era. Thomas Jones three times from the one yard line...I'll never forget it. Outscored with Brett Favre at QB going up against a very bad NFL QB making his first start since high school. Can't do it now, in fact now that Sanchez seems to be developing for the better you have to let him stay in the system. He's been fine for the last few weeks. The ridiculously high INT numbers have gone (Not just Sanchez, Penny + Favre too) and their seems to be progress, even if he does have us pulling our hair out from time to time. My big problem with him tonight was not the plays themselves, but the fact that he was calling so many passing plays when it was obvious that the receivers were struggling to catch the wet ball and LT and Shonn were on fire. The empty backfields are unnecessary and really annoying. But what really pissed me off tonight was 3 passes in a row from the 5?? in a torrential downpour. RUN THE BALL PLEASE. Why not just tell the guy operating the Jumbotrons to write up there in big letters: "Don't bother defending the run here. The Jets are passing." Look, I could see it if it's 3rd and 10 and your RB's stink. But on 3rd and short, the defense WILL commit to defending the run and on 3rd and long LT is a legit threat on a draw play. Calling that stuff down inside the 5 or 10 is just hideously stupid every single time. It's his elementary school strategy. "I'll line up my FB and then motion him wide 5-10x a game. Once every other game I'll have the ball actually thrown out there" (like with Conner last night). The idea is this will keep the defense honest so they always put a defender on the FB, which in reality almost never happens. Meanwhile for us it's a waste of a player on the field and like playing 10-on-11 for the other 90-95% of the plays where we do this. He thinks this really fools NFL DC's.
