The Jets are +11 in turnover margin. Not sure where that ranks us but it has to be close to the top.

Also, the Jets are +54 in scoring margin and have a margin of victory of 10.8, best in the league in both categories. Behind them are the Falcons (+43, 8.6), Steelers (+36, 9.0) and Patriots (+35, 8.8).

Those 3rd down penalties where we gave the Ravens a fresh set of downs, when they were definitely punting and on that one that turned a field goal into a TD, were essentially turnovers.

I know they don't count in the +/- stat, but they caused us to lose that game, even though we won the turnover battle. :(

But there's so many flaws! Didn't you see the drops!? Didn't you notice the offense's lack of TDs against the Vikings D? The safeties!?

This team is fun to watch, and I'm willing to ride that coaster as long as necessary. This is as close to our year as we'll get for the next couple years IMO.

Didn't you see we won inspite of that?

So Schotty's leaving?

Record wise yes.

Talent wise not sure.

And if I recall their wins they could very well be 1-4.

They could also be 5-0, Pitt beat them in OT in a very even game. We could be 5-0/3-2, Baltimore and Pittsburgh the same. You make your own luck...

Also, it's about situations, is it not?

Right now I don't see a team close to them in the NFC. Giants would probably be next. Bears don't impress me at all. The Jets have Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New England, Indy, San Diego etc.

Talent wise? Good running game, one of the best young QB's in the game, elite WR/TE, strong defense...There's a lot to like about that team. DOn't think they'd trade places with us, that's all I'm saying.

Surprised no one has mentioned that we're also tied with the Ravens, Bears, and Falcons for the best stat - most wins.

Absolutely correct, the record is what matters most. I guess what our turnover and scoring margins indicate is that we may well be the best of the 4-1 teams....i.e the best team in the league.

They mentioned on the broadcast last night, too, that this is the first time since 1986 that the Jets have scored 28 or more in four straight games.

While these numbers are great, a team can't rest on them. Balls that bounce well one week month, can bounce the other way the next. Sanchez was fortunate not to throw a couple picks last night, and we saw LT fumble out of bounds the way Shonn Greene did in the opener.

Jets won a game last night when they weren't entirely on. Sanchez was erratic, they couldn't score TD's. You let a team hang around like that, and they can steal one from you - and the Vikes almost did.

But they got the big TD drive when they had to at the end, and big the pick six to seal the game at the very end. I thought Favre was crying there, which I liked.

Championship teams win games like that, SOJ lose. Champions have the ball bounce their way.

They might be the best team in NFC. But that does not mean they are the top 3 in the NFL!

If the Falcons are not better than the JETS than won't they want to be int he JETS situation ?

Nope.

Jets are the better team but are they are they any more likely to win the SB?

Think about who the Jets would have to go through in January and compare that to Atlanta.

We do not even now Atlanta is playoff bound. They could very well be 1-4 right now. They are riding their luck.

True, but at the end of the day they are 4-1.

Anything can happen, but they're in a good place right now.

Falcons aside, the road in the NFC is cake compared to ours.

But so is Chicago. They are 4-1 too.

If you are an elite team in a weak conference that ride is certainly cake walk.

But if you are just of the teams that get by some good fortune its another thing.

Right now i would not put Falcons above rest of crap file in NFC.

The Bears are lucky crap too.

My point exactly!

The only thing you can really tell about the NFC right now is that the West sucks, the Panthers suck, and the Lions, well they are the Lions.

Everything else is pretty much still up in the air, despite some bad starts for potentially good teams.

Nobody has really showed enough of anything to count out anyone else besides the above mentioned right now, and the West will have a representative by default.

But that can change in a hurry. I would not be surprised if the Falcons went 1-4 next 5 games. That goes for the Bears as well.
