JetsFanInDenver
When you don't throw the ball downfield, you're not going to throw many picks. Where did you get the from ? Stop manufacturing stuff up to suit your arguments. Checkout how many 40+ yards an 20+ yard completions both have had. Considering the quality of opposition you have faced so far and the fact that Randy Moss is wearing a Viking jersey Brady's numbers will decline. Klecko73isGod
. Who hasnt/is a ticking time bomb? Sanchez or Henne? You cant actually believe that Sanchez is going to keep this up? He's going to throw picks. It happens and its o.k. But yeah, the model has been impressive. He's very young and inexperienced, yet he's got a veteran presence out there this year. Cant lie, I'm excited about the kids future. I think he could be really good, dont know if he'll be elite ever, but he looks to be one of those QB's who smart and though he doesnt have all the tools, the lack of, doesnt hurt him. He's got a team around him that can win, and they are finally learning how exactly to do that. Hopefully it stays that way. How does that make him a "ticking time bomb?" I swear some Jets fans suffer from battered wife syndrome. Sanchez isn't throwing picks. There really isn't any reason to believe he is going to start suddenly tossing four a game. He hasn't thrown one in his last seven regular season games and including last year's postseason, he's only thrown two in his last 10 games that counted. Fifteen of those picks came in four games. That means he only threw five in his other 11 starts last season. The truth is that he had four bad games his rookie year.
slats
Brady is ranked 9th in YPA at 7.47 "Dink and Dunk" Sanchez is ranked 29th with a paltry 6.14 YPA. http://espn.go.com/n...sPerPassAttempt The difference between the two players isn't the distance of the passes they're throwing, it's the percentage of passes they're completing. Brady is close to 70%, and Sanchez is close to 55%. If 15% more of Sanchez' passes go for 0 yards (as incompletions do), that's obviously going to bring down his YPA a good deal. If you look at the two QB's yards per completion, it tells a different story: Sanchez' YPC is 11.15 Brady's YPC is 10.71 Sanchez has work to do, but it has nothing to do with the tale you're trying to spin. He'd actually get his YPA up by dinking and dunking more, like Brady does.

slats
All you are doing is substituting one ineffciency (completion percentage) for another one (YPA). Actually what I've done is completely debunk your claim that Sanchez isn't throwing picks because he's not throwing the ball downfield. Clearly he is, especially when compared to Brady. Yet Sanchez has 0 picks in 147 attempts, and Brady has 2 in 122 attempts. Brady's also lost a fumble, which Sanchez hasn't done. The title of this thread has to do with turnovers, although no one's surprised that you want to change the subject when you swing and miss on one of your "points." Green DNA
When you don't throw the ball downfield, you're not going to throw many picks. The Pats won their first Super Bowl with barely throwing a pass over 10 yards all year.

Kleckineau
Don't share your complaint about his long ball, and every QB in the league has thrown a handful of should've been intercepted passes. But there's plenty of room for improvement with Mark. His completion percentage and yards per attempt are both low. He's faced two very good defenses outside of the division, and played pedestrian (putting it politely) in both. But he's protecting the football (no fumbles, either), and he's winning. Against a banged-up pass happy team like Denver, this is a game where he should really open it up. You were saying something? Dude is an int machine that has been luuuuuucky. His passes just keep getting dropped.......by the opposition.

Kleckineau
Apparantly when Sanchez starts throwing interceptions the Jets still win... You are so correct. Jets have enough talent and grit to overcome a "poor" performance by Sanchez. Nobody wants him to succeed more than we do but that shouldnt stop us from stating the obvious. serphnx
Damn Peyton Manning is throwing nearly INT's all over the place. He nearly sucks. What is that, his third near INT in just this half? People that don't watch any football except Jets games and don't know football all think only Sanchez throws those (this include the NY media, who have the least football knowledge nationally with the exception of a few NYT writers that nobody knows about). Actual football fans know every QB throws those, usually on average about 3 a game. Brees does it, Rivers does it, Peyton Manning does it.
lancemehl
What do you mean start ? Its been 5 games this year, and his growth in 22 games has been amazing. If he has a bad game like all QB's do, including the great ones, there will be no need to dwell on it . Something clicked with this kid and he looks very comfortable and very much in charge, he has developed into a leader and with that leadership comes confidence. Its much easier to play confident than to play scared and thats the difference you have been seeing and will continue to see. Absolutely. There is no reverting. He is what he is, a 5-1 QB with 9td's and 2 int's There is no way to get on this kid. I love the fact that he throws a pick and he keeps coming. This was another big step for him. I was half expecting him to start dumping off again after that INT, but he never backed down. It's weird to say, but I think this WAS a good game for Sanchez. He made his mistakes, but hung in there to get the W. The team is clicking right now. It's never gonna be perfect.

sh4dy15
If this board seriously turns on him after throwing 2 ints and coming back for a TD after the first one and leading a game winning drive at the end of the game, some of you are ****in assholes. EVERY QB THROWS INTERCEPTIONS!!! Did anyone here really think he wasnt gonna throw one? or two? Cmon get the **** over it. Im obviousely not talking to everyone but theres for sure gonna be some douche's in here claiming he sucks. Some of you wanted to see what would happen and we saw him bounce back fine! Not to mention Holmes is obviousely still adapting to the offense too, 5-1 going into the bye week and that is THANKS to Sanchez play up to this point, not despite it.
