I thought the Oline played well, and I think you got to give the coaching a little higher. They didnt come near to there passing number at home and the Jets were getting them on a short week.

Also, I think more credit should be given to Orton. The guy has been doing everything in his power to win games. He throws for a ton of yards and if he had a defense this team would be a lot better. We came out with a win, this could have gotten ugly. Denver plays very well at home, for us to eek one out shows we got some balls. One thing is for sure, if we don't start playing better you can believe that we'll be looking at more then one loss real soon.

Based on those grades you would think we lost the game. The offensive line and RB's at least deserve to get B's, and no WAY the coaching staff deserves a C-.

Yeah, really rough grade on Sanchez. D+? His completion percentage and YPA was actually better than his season to date numbers! Yeah, he threw the two picks, but I thought he rebounded nicely.

C-, at the very least. smile.gif

Not my best outing as a grader! :(

LOL..

But in all seriousness it was one of those ugly wins which is nice yet... still ugly.

As far as Sanchez goes, I think you turn the ball over twice and only score once.. you don't get positive marks.

It was more than that though. He had a whole bunch of near picks, threw behind his receivers (like the one where LT fell down), bad timing (one with Keller), etc.

To a previous poster, I don't know how you can give the backs a good grade at all. I understand the critique on Sanchez but not on the backs. They basically did nothing till the 4th quarter where LT had a few nice runs here and there. I'm not taking anything away from him either but his 2nd TD was one of those ones where the D just lets you in. We needed the spark sometime in the first half and we never got it from them.

Oh, and one point on the coaching staff: Did any of you actually LIKE Brian Schottenheimer's gameplan this week? Cause I sure as hell didn't.

The 4th quarter is when you want your RB's to come through and they did. And the coaching staff deserves a pass for coming out with the W with a short amount of time to prepare.

I think Id agree with most of these grades. Sanchez way underperformed the normal performance against the Broncos defense as did the runners. I might go a touch higher on the LBs. Those two runs by Orton were really the Safety responsibility once the pass rush misses him. Both guys slipped on those plays.

Harris missed Orton one on one on the second run IIRC, first time it was Leonhard.

Good job, I would just probably bump up a few or all of the grades half a letter grade due to the situations coming into the game.

Coming off of a big monday night win against the vikings, having to come to denver on friday to acclimate to the weather and playing the Broncos at home, who usually play well, is a huge win. That's one of those games where as long as you come away with win ya don't care.

As much as I love a good Schotty bashing, this game didnt deserve it. Sanchez looked like sh*t, which in turn made the game plan look like sh*t. But we ran a lot of things that I love seeing from a play caller and the timing was perfect on a couple. Lots of 1st down throws, lots of play action move the pocket type calls to settle Sanchez down cuz clearly he was rattled. I liked the skinny posts to Holmes. Dont know how you can defend that.

He had a couple of plays that he settled for a punt, but I wasnt too upset considering where we were on the field and they way Sanchez was playing.

I think the coaching staff did a great job of getting the team ready in a short week traveling 2 time zones to a very hostile environment. The D was bad against the run, but they limited Orton to his worst game...only 14 completions.

I thought the coaching staff did well.

I thought your grades were spot on. We played terrible and still won...maybe that would deserve an "A" if there was a category for that.

... the team performed bad all around ... and your grades reflect that ...

... orton was unbelievable ... i hadn't paid much attention to him this year ... he really has improved ...

... this game had all the makings to be a lost opportunity ... occassionally a team will have a year when things fall right for them ... so far - that team has been us this year! ...

... performance better improve in all areas for our next game vs. greenbay ...

Orton was 14 of 34 in the game. He was horrible and I am amazed at the numbers he's putting up because he didn't look like anything special to me on Sunday.

If you thought Orton was good you must have thought Sanchez was phenonomenal.

Said this in the game thread...Denver D was coming hard early on and called alot of...well I guess the best description is high percentage throws...to move the ball around that. Not quite the screens that this offense desperately needs, but alot of play action and passes designed to take advantage of an overly aggressive D.

It was an ugly win, but that can be said about many/most/all wins. The point is that it was a win.

The pretty, efficient numbers we're all looking for will come in due time.

... i was amazed at how orton squeezed some of those balls in (no homo) ...

... sanchez had his worst performance of the season ... i have thought he's been very good most of the year though B) ...
