What do you do if you're Denver

When we had first and goal at the 2 with 1:50(or so)They had 3 TO's left, would you let us just run it in and try to score a TD with 3TO's

or do you try to hold them to 3?

I honestly just assumed you play defense on the goalline, but ESPN reports that Denver let LT score to get the ball back. Maybe I missed that because I had tears of joy flooding my eyes after the PI. Is that what happened? What do you do there?

(Wasn't that the play where the Terminator plowed the lane or was that his first TD? Wow...dementia's setting in fast!)

I didn't see the winning TD. I went absolutely crazy when they called that PI, then I saw we were winning. I was caught somewhere between what the **** and awesomeness.

It definitely looked like they let him score. It was like the ball was snapped and they all fell down.

If you hold them to 3 there, then it's a tie and OT at worst for Denver. If they used their TOs at the same time they may've even given themselves enough time to get into field goal range. If they let him score, giving the Jets a 4 point lead, they are freakin' retarded.

It's seriously unbelievably awful coaching to let them score.

If the Jets offense had Peyton Manning and were gashing the Broncos with every run, yeah, maybe. They had just ******* forced a tth down which had to be bailed out with a crazy play, it's not like our offense was dominating.

Thank you McDaniels. Seriously, ******* idiot.

I would have tried to hold the Jets to a FG. But then I don't think LT was going to be stopped, and he certainly wasn't going to turn it over either.

You hit him for a loss (and it's likely when you KNOW it's coming) and the Jets have to think about putting it in the air.

Insane desicion.

They did not let him score, they can't be that stupid!

It was obvious they did. Even Rex said it looked they ran "Freeway" which is what the Jets call it.

Sometimes the play makes sense. I don't think it did in this case, but what it tells you is McDaniels has no confidence in his D making those stops. You stop us, use your timeouts, and you have 1 minute (granted 0 TOs) to win with a FG, which obviously your kicker can hit from midfield. If they score, they score, but that's the worst case.

LT disagrees, he said they were calling out where the play was going, like they were trying to stop it.

I thought so, too, but it wasn't obvious.

I agree with everyone who says it's a stupid call if that's what they decided to do. You can't let yourself go down by four, there. It's not like Orton was having a great day.

That's exactly what I'm saying, but Espn said it matter of factly. If the jets did that crap, I'd be furious right now! Oh well!

I watched the play several times, I think Denver tried to stop the play. Maybe people just can't accept that Slauson is good enough to blast through like that. In the clip at the end the Denver defenders are arguing with the refs. I doubt they would have done that if they were letting the Jets score. The ball gets snapped and the Denver LBers rush to the line of scrimmage. Don't see how that fits into letting them score.

This, LT agrees!

Denver is just that bad against the run.

If we were down by 1 or 2, then letting LT score would have been the smart play because the inevitable FG would be the end of the game (as we could have run down the clock to 0:04). But being up by 3, I think the Broncos would be crazy to let us score. The chances of stopping 3 plays from the 2 has to be better than the chances of driving the field in 1:13 for a TD. Still, it's a judgment call...
