And this is why you spend your top draft pick on a QB. Don't worry about how much it costs, no other player can instantly turn your franchise around. Bradford's development is the most ridiculous I've ever seen though, usually it at least takes a few years. This guy instantly started beasting in this league. He threw to I believe 9 different WRs yesterday, and he has or had lost his top targets to injuries throughout the season.

I can't believe people used to argue against drafting a QB because it was "expensive" or "will set you back 5 years" or because "Trent Dilfer won a fluke SB one year last decade." Imagine if the Jets had drafted a QB instead of sticking with Chad Noodleton? Now that Sanchez is here the Jets are fine. But look at even Sanchez, he had a horrible game by all accounts but even so when we needed him, game winning drive for a TD. Your crappy QBs don't even give you a chance at that, you are just doomed and won't score a point all game long if they are off.

Bradford now in 6 career starts has more wins than the Rams have the past 2 years combined right? I think he is also beating out Alex Smith, Matt Moore, DA and a few other sh*tty QBs combined this year.

I agree! And bradford has NO targets, or Oline..

Only thing is that bradford does look slight, hope he can stay healthy..

Bradford has an O-line...of the past couple of years the Rams have added a top LG (Bell), a top C (Brown), the top OT prospect from a draft (arguably...J. Smith), and then they used a 2nd on Saffold. The only guy I don't know on that OL is whoever the RG is...

The Rams are 3-3...the Lions have one of the top offenses in the NFC...the Jets offense has outplayed it's defense...says something about early season NFL, no?

The Rams were inclined to draft Suh until they got to see Bradford firsthand. It is amazing how quickly he's developing. The argument you speak of, though, is not stupid if the QB you're getting busts. It CAN set your franchise back IF you stubbornly stick with him, the way the 49ers seem to be doing with Alex Smith. The quicker you cut ties with a QB that's not working out for you, the better.

At the same time, QB is really the only position WORTH spending # 1 pick money on. Even if a # 1 pick thats not a QB works out (like Mario Williams in Houston), it can't impact your team like a QB does.

  • 3 weeks later...

The St. Louis Rams are now 4-4 and in 1st place in the NFC West. Wow.

Between the Rams, the Tampa Bay Bucs and (all of a sudden), the Browns, the league has officially gone insane. It's either the best season ever, or it's the cheesedickiest season ever. Kinda like it, myself.

Yeah, definitely. I have to admit, it was kinda cool even to see Matt Stafford playing decently until he went down (again). The more good players the league has, the more fun it is.

I wanted Bradford so bad. <3

Someone on the WFAN earlier mentioned that some scouts had him ranked as a better prospect than Peyton Manning. He, like Manning in '97, might have ended up the #1 pick in '09 if he chose to come out as a junior and so on.

I liked Bradford alot, and I like seeing the spread debunked as a poor system to put a college QB with NFL hopes in. He definitely had top of the line intelligence and leadership skills at the position. That said, I dropped him a notch because I'm not a fan of shoulder surgeries.

At least he's got a dome...

I'm with you on the shoulder surgeries. If he was our QB, I'd feel like my entire franchise was on borrowed time.

Its the Bears. Sorry, the Bills finding a way to lose that game on Sunday shows how non-competitive they are. They'll get blown out next week by the Lions.

I dunno the lions won't have stafford, and by competitive I mean they are in games in the 4th Q

They've already won as many games this season as they did the prior 2 seasons combined. Steve Spagnuolo (the runner-up for the Jets HC job) and Sam Bradford look like the real deal. Any chance they can win the NFC West?

sam bradford looks like the real deal. Spagnuolo is along for the ride

Lions have the Bills and the Cowboys the next two weeks. Hope they don't get too overconfident before they face the Patsies. Might have to root for Dallas two weeks from now just to make sure.
